India Beackons
by Kedar Zadbuke on May 01, 2008 12:20 PM  Permalink

would say the task you took is really holistic,
Since u want to feed hunger n improve living std of poor.

India will become superpower if and only if every Indian gets at least one time square meal.

and not providing excellent services in Malls or other branded food courts.

Kudos to you n all the best for your entrepreneur career which will enlighten the lower sector of society with education and courage to dream big.

TALENT
by Nilesh M Shah on May 01, 2008 09:22 AM  Permalink

My view is that he should try outside of educational institution and check if he is capable. Currently he is working under shelter of this as every knows him and there seems to be some Some soft corner. Than his dreams should speak for his success.

What a WASTE of TALENT!!!!!
by on May 01, 2008 05:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This guy could have done the same thing after passing out from high school. He wasted his time and governments money, came out from IIM-A to sell idli-dosa. I agree that this person is talented, but he is wasting his talent and doesn't deserve all the applaud that he is getting.

I appreciate his success. I dont consider him a ROLE MODEL. It is evident that his main cause is MAKING MONEY and not helping poor and needy. And every business man does that - nothing great about this guy. He made millions, did he part with his profit and gave bonus or any incentive to his employees? I dont know and I am sure even you dont know. But by looking at his profit, I can tell something is not right. Just by management skill you can not have such dispropotionate profit. Either he his overcharging his customers or under paying his employees (this is one advantage of hiring uneducated poor employee) or he is using cheap, substandard raw materials.
Living in HUT is a publicity gimmick and I will not be surprised to see him entering into politics after some time. He has all the qualities of a politician.
and by the way, I am proud of who ever I am. I am not hungry of appreciation from people like you.

Hey,

If he would have started the same after 10th then he would have end-up with one small stall at the corner of the road with mother and son doing the business. Due to IIM background his vision got broadened for bigger business to employ more people than a 'small stall'. Knowledge does count :)

Read the story of people who started NIRMA and RELIANCE. They were not highly educated and they did not stop at a "small stall".

hello,
I guess this is what plagues us...we are so programmed to get out from esteemed institutes and still 'work as second hands'for MNC's or glorified outsourced jobs. Buddy appreciate his efforts and don't do the same act of criticizing anybody who has the guts to go ahead and make what is called India shining. Well, on second thoughts did you not get through the IIM by any chance?????
Thank god we are making ways for ourselves, cutting our niche for ourselves. Kudos to people like sarathbabu.

Please stop criticising the above XYZ (he has not mentioned his name) person..He couldn't find any difference beween running a grocery shop or running a bigbazaar or any megamart. I think some day he will even ask Mukesh Ambhani the same que.. like 'Mukesh..u wasted your foreign degree by selling petrol, cloth and grocery items'!!

Dont compare this guy with Mukesh. He is not not only selling selling petrol, cloth - he makes the yarn before he makes the clothes. He extracts crude oil before he process it into petrol. if this guy comes up with some new food ingradients that helps diabetic or high BP or even for regular healthy people, I will appreciate that he is using his talent.

Dear he used his talent to grown his business and make opporunity for others, so ... how talent wasted or how he wasted his time and government money ? you need to think over it again .. Saratbabu did an excellent job for those 200 people who are working with him now in his food business.

Boss , IIM A only gave him the skills and opportunities to sell Idli Dosa at this scale . Selling idli Dosa looks very simple but you need good management skills to do it in the scale he is doing. He do deserve the applaud he is getting and this is free marketing for his venture , if you are not aware
