So What if he lives in the HUT, its his choice. I can see this piece of new in rediff since last 5 days almost - Rediff if you don't have other things to publish then you might as well shut down ur portal. Losers!!
first of all i should thank rediff for this article. Plz keep publishing such articles it helps to gain confidance to young first generation enreprenuer like me. Its just moved me so much by reading how much he strugled to get thru' initial hardles. thanks for inspiring me n thousnd ppl like me in india.
I see lot of hate mesages abt Sarath here. They feel an IIM grad wasted his knowledge n degree by starting a cafeteria. Many hav also said he should have worked for a MNC first. Sarath worked for Polaris for two years before joining IIM. He finished his engineering in Bits Pilani. His studies was mostly funded by his poor relatives, supportive teachers etc. His teachers felt such a good student should be helped and took turns to pay for his fees. His friends in IIMs gave him loan for starting his company. I am so proud of him. We need lot more entrepreneurs. If there was no Moorthys/Premji/ Ratan /Ambanis/ Sunil Mittal / Shiv Nadar etc.. where will we go for jobs? appreciate the efforts of this young man to create jobs. We all think of corporates n fancy life after graduation. This guys wants to be an employment generator than an employment seeker. Thats what our former president Kalam had also said to graduates.

hmm, if people could criticize sarat also, then there will be no person left in indian who can escape criticism. I appreciate your opinion.
I really was moved that an IIMA graduate could hail from such a small start. But, the unrelenting spirit is what I liked the most of this bloke, who tried and tried till he succeeded. He DID NOT only succeed, but he made sure that all his employees did. It was a WIN-WIN situation for everyone around. I really would want to see similar entrepreneurs in India in the future. If at all we become self-reliant and follow our passions, I guess we would all succeed someday. This youngman really needs a pat on his back for making all realise that India is not meant for the weaklings who tend to slack down. But, India is a nation that will thrive and strive till it succeeds. I guess we do not need someone to teach us how we should go about making a living, if they leave it to us; we WILL SUCCEED.
No politician needs to feed us, if we learn to work our way and help our peers around. I guess India should go into the hands of the learned who are committed to change this very world. India should be represented and there should be professionalism in what we do and aspire. America, we all feed pride to go to; did not build its fortune in a day. Efficient leaders were the boosters. But, it was the citizens who felt responsible. They were sensible to the policies of their leaders. Learning from the successes and failures should become the norm. The latest PSLV launch proves India is powerful enough to self-sustain. Remember it is our engineers and doctors who have done striked strides.
...to read some of the hateful remarks being spewed at these forums. Why can't people appreciate this young fellow? I read in his interview that he was actually pretty forthcoming about his views on reservation and I quote: "In my case, I would not have demanded for reservation. I accepted it because the society felt I belonged to the deprived class and needed a helping hand.I feel reservation is enough for one generation. For example, if the child's father is educated, he will be able to guide the child properly. Take my case, I didn't have any system that would make me aware of the IITs and the IIMs. But I will be able to guide my children properly because I am well educated. I got the benefits of reservation but I will never avail of it for my children. I cannot even think of demanding reservation for the next generation."
Kudos to this young man for standing up for what he believes in instead of being just another expensive suit!
Instead of making comparisons and critisising the hardwork and dedication of a poor family, lets look forward to more such success stories from the downtrodden. Lets have a vision to make India a beautiful country to live in and just not be content with the retarted progress we have made till now, if you understand what I mean.
