Its all inbuilt
by Manoj Singh on Apr 25, 2008 11:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If you accept the concept of interest rate, you also need to accept the concept of inflation and deflation, boom and bust. Infalation is also called price rise. All these components are inbuilt in modern economic structure build over the concept of interest rate. You need to understand why interest rate was devised. So that rich peple can enjoy more and poor people can enjoy less. So that rich people can earn more everyday and poor people can loose money without knowing about that. Incidently, I am a rich man, i think so... yeah.

Then who is responsible
by Saths on Apr 25, 2008 11:47 AM  Permalink

I mean is Rediff so stupid to ask this type of questions. Isn't UPA the ruling party now? There are sevral cartels that are working in tandem and increasing the price like the rising temperature. To add to all of this mess there is also all the retail chains making sure they suck the blood out every customer. The government is not able to catch these goons and put them behind the bars. The cartels have the country in their hands now and they decide the future. We have the commodity trading which is now the fancy of everyone to create fake demand and make millions when the normal suffers the loss. Look at the oil price it is being traded like there is no tomorrow by the so called hedge funds and since they have billions invested they don't want it to come down and we are doomed unless the commodity trading is stopped. The stock market plunge is inviting more people in to commodity trading which will spell doom for normal man. I would not be surprised if these greedy ba stards would take the oil price up to $250 per barrel.

Yes ! Blame the govt.
by sushilkumar kulkarni on Apr 25, 2008 11:44 AM  Permalink

I agree, inflation is a cumulative effect of lots of activities, and govt should control this after all govt.is elected by people and they should seriously look into this issue.Instead of focusing on national issues like inflation, food, property, agriculture, etc.congressis more interested in votes. One of example,
India is agricultural country,as elections are at hand they have announced loan waiver to farmers, this is not a solution to poverty.Govt should provide basic needs like instruments, services and facilities to farmers, and promote agricultural activities in India. They shuld provide basic needs to poor people, congress is dividing society on cast basis by giving some benefits on basis of casts. They are more focused on coming elections. If govt is weak, then nothing will happen, this condition may get worse. After all govt.should take initiative by implementing strict laws for national interest.

Then who else can be blamed?
by crazyguy on Apr 25, 2008 11:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

anybody saying bulsh!t like the price rise is due to USA etc should visit farmers in the villages. they are becoming poorer and are getting no increase in their price. All are being eaten by the middlemen and business houses. After all they also will have to disburse a good amount to the ruling parties to be spent(!!) on election.
Our great FM (and the worst puppet PM) has turned India to a casino where if you have crooked business brain, you can invest your spare money to stock market / retail (say stockists) and multiply it in no time. And if you don't have the brain or extra money- GO TO HELL MY DEAR INDIAN CITIZENS. But don't forget to vote us again because we are secular and lose sleep if someone is caught by Australian police for suspicious activities but least bothered about hundreds of farmer's suicide in our country. MERA UPA MAHAN.

Congress missdeeds are endless . . . .
by Ramesh on Apr 25, 2008 11:39 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Congress misdeeds & failure list is endless.... The reservation issue, failure of nuke deal, India%u2019s poor strategy against Pak, poor governance across congress ruled states , keeping low profile on sensitive issues makes me feel that this govt is the worst ever govt. De-freezing of Quttorochi account, oil tokens from Iraq to president of congress, Jharkhand episode, Bihar episode, the list is endless of the misdeeds of congress.Prized portfolios like Home and Power being occupied by sycophants and absolutely no progress being done in these departments. Home department is keen to divide our nation on caste politics. What the hell the PM and Finance minister the great economist are doing? This is the weakest government we never had in the history. Brainless economists? Finance ministry Failure. Foreign policy Failure. Nuke deal Failure Indo pak relation Failure. Home ministry super flop. What for we need this government?

100 percent blame is on the UPA govt.
by Biswajit Ghoshal on Apr 25, 2008 11:39 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

...this govt just sat on the issues instead of addressing them when there were indications of price rise. The food minister is too busy with BCCI. Sonia Maino was busy with implementing quotas for minorities and SC/ST/OBCs. Congressi Netas were busy licking feet of Gandhi family-members. CPM was busy with opposing nuclear deal and suppressing tibetan-protesters and killing people in Nandigram and destroying very good harvests of potato (in WB, farmers were forced to throw out excesses potatoes). Stupid Karunanidhi was busy with teaching Ramayana and uselessness of Ramsetu. PM was busy with getting honorary degrees. These bunch of foolish policy makers must get out right away.
