yes it can be easily serviced here bcoz it is "unlocked" that means it is not fixed with any service operator. So it can be used with IDEA, AIRTEL, Vodafone etc.
There is no comparision between Apple concept and Vodafone's services. Apple please think again and again otherwise your product will be only to listen music. In India no body [except 0.001% ] people will use data services . And what about the coverage of Vodafone. They are almost lowest level of services, network and plan charges.

Abe student ke bachche, itne bade baap ki aulaad hai to price kya dekhta hai? apne baap ki to vaise bhi utarni hai tune. By the way don't call yourself a student, craps like you are better described as cheap flirts by girls and for your info I' am a student.
I am surprised why people give so much on the internet on phone. After a month or so, people loose interest and go back to their desk top for the mail.
I wonder if any company has really made bucks with 2.5G or 3G.
The SMS still survives and will last for ever, the format may chage.
I feel the HTC touch phone or any other phone which helps in easing the text writing is the best.

Yes , i agree with this. Browsing internet on Phone is not much cool as it appears. Internet on phone is just an added feature.

not at all! it's really great to use internet on mobile, just try Opera mini 4.0 installed on it and you will feel exactly the way you use internet at your PC/Laptop!

But still the screen is too small. It is okay for only diehard net people. I would prefer only a desktop for surfing, not even Laptop.

Apple didn't find any other carrier for its iPhone???? Why they choose one of the worst network service in India, we don't understand. It's obvious that, total sales revenue will be 30% less that the expected because of this worst carrier partner Vodafone.

Apple iphone comes with lot of headache. For instance, the battery of the phone is not changable. Unlike other mobile phone batteries, the battery in the iphone is fixed. You need to go to a iphone service center to get it replaced. It's not worth the trouble.

If the price could not really be brought down to realistic levels, say below Rs.20000, they should develop a new version with slightly lesser features, pricing it around Rs.10,000 so that middle class persons can enjoy the benefits. The marketing people should learn from other MNCs who have learnt to 'Indianise' the products and services with most competitive pricing. More volume, low price should be their marketing strategy. Joseph, Apple does not many any of their product for the middle class. The are a CLASS apart from the other stuff you get from the market. Be it the ipod, Mac notebooks or iphone. Hence, they would not heed to your advice. There are tons of Chinese stuff on the market which is mass sold/marketed. And they don't seems to be all that bad!!

Yes but it would be needed that it is "unlocked" beforehand. This should be done before leaving US.

And to unlock the phone in the US, it would cost you a bomb..Better, you dispose it off in US and buy a new one in India...Think about it!!
