Inflation
by Alak Mazumder on Apr 11, 2008 02:03 PM  Permalink

There were enough tools available with the government to sound an alarm bell and act in time. The situation today is somewhat an offshoot of the combinations of lack of political will to deal with the problem, integration with the global economy and neglect of rural economy including agricultural economy for a long long time. The closure of thousands of branches of rural banks since 1991 is a clear pointer in that direction. Alak Mazumder, Pondicherry

Common Man to be blamed
by Abdulla Pathan on Apr 11, 2008 02:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Common man should be blamed for such high inflation.

This year couple of countries already had revolt against government for increase in food prices.

Its only you ( Common Man) can make change.

Congress has to be thrown out from power. Can that be ? Does the common man understand what has happened in these last 4 years. They have been robbed of a decent housing and decent life ? Generations to come will not be able to buy any housing !!!!!!! Here we are all silent expecting something to happen by itself. Even opposition or BJP is not strong enough to raise this issue !!!!!!!!!!

Sardar Manmohan singh and party wants to gift away the huge money collected through ITAX & Foreign investments to united vote bank of Govt. employees.

Why speculation in commodities
by on Apr 11, 2008 01:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why do the Government allow commodity trading? If at all anyone wants to do a commodity trading let him go to some year and do there. In the name of speculation you keep rise the prices. Do not allow commodity trading like shares. this has to stop. Earlier if someone has to take benefit of commodity trading they could have done it only by hoarding i.e physically store it in the godowns which involved capital investment. but with online commodity trading no one needs to invest anything for storing the goods. Stop this trading!!!!

Congress and its allies is to be blamed
by Biswajit Ghoshal on Apr 11, 2008 01:58 PM  Permalink

...the current govt don't have any botheration of the real problems being faced by the public. They are eager to create vote banks - by implementing quotas, by subsidizing the loan-waivers, by participating in BCCI etc. Sharad Pawar should mind his own business as agricultural ministar first - and should be enough busy with that. But instead he is busy with BCCI. The whole weak, minority pleasing, country-dividing in the line of castes, Congress-lead UPA MUST GO OUT NOW!!

Wrong Policies
by Abdulla Pathan on Apr 11, 2008 01:56 PM  Permalink

1. Our production yield is not improved since 1970. Chinies food production yield is 3 times more than us. Europian food production yield is 5 times more than us. We are reluctant for Genetically modified seeds.
2. No increase in production capacity of Uria and other agriproducts since 1970. We are depend on import of them
3. Farmers do not have direct market reach as it has to go through middle man. Middle man have earned cores of rupees by black marketing.
4. Electricity for farming or villages. electricity is not available for our cities then who care about farmers. No major Hydralic power generation like 3 gorge in china.
We are building alternative power generation with help of outside companies. One unit of Wind Power generator cost min 5 Cores. All parts are imported they can be produced in masses at low cost.
Solar power generation, we are still importing most of solar panels from outside. No proper funding from center, Center only has plans to support for alternate energy generation; however not support from heart.
