What percentage of our food grains and other essential agricultural commodities are imported, Mr Sibal? The fact is that policy makers and decision makers for too long have imported ideas and strategies from outside. Will they look at this country while going for agri planning? Successive Govts. lived in a dream called Green Revolution. This dream was designed to be shattered. A wheat revolution based on high inputs can not be called a green revolution. Pulses production in this country has been stagnant for the last six decades. Oilseeds producers were not encouraged. Rather a huge amount of land was diverted to soyabean to meet the needs of the export market. Now we are going for biofuels with govt land and money. If two blocks in Nashik produces more than 50% of country's onion, what will happen?We need an integrated strategy that is based on a proper understanding of our food basket in a micro setting and our ancesters' agri strategy where every locality produced something of everying that is consumed in that locality. There was never a complete dependence in any region. In the simplification, uniformity, easy access to so called extension services, we have destroyed the very ethos of Indian agriculture. Rising food prices is a culmination of this process.

U are Minister of Earth Sciences...after some time all middle class people in India will be eating earth only(whereas you would be dining in style).
U were offered IAS thank god u declined(as IAS Means Indian ADMINISTRATIVE Services)...u r statement " The Govt does not have magical wand " is by no means an Administrative statement.
U are turning 60 so sit at home and watch how we suffer in your UPA-SONIA Raj becoz u anyways in power have no control.
shame Mr Sibal you make this comment that you have no magic wand.and you came to power stating that this govt is for aam admi.You are already in election mode and you have lost focus in governance (forget good governance).Why did you allow the prices to go up in the first place.Aren't you respnsible for gauaging the global trend and take preventive measure.Your statement is irresponsible and unacceptable.Be accountable and don't say the BJP is responsioble for the price rise.The biggest villian is left.conviniently they become part of the govt and becoming opposition.Currently due to the inflation they are the oppostion party.The most unaccountable party!!!!Let the election come and we will show who has the magic wand....

Maharasthra is obsessed with Bacchan for last 2 months, TN & Karnataka with Hoggegnekkal, Center with 27% obc quota, Orissa with harrasment of Lady MLA,Mayawati (up) analysing the 27% verdict, WB and Kerala (Left) are busy supproting China for olympics and critiscing Tibet....so who is thinking abt the price rise and strategy to counter the increasing price rise.All of them are in election mode raking up emotional issues and forgetting the core issue of price rise.People of India are not fools dear politicians.Come elections and they will set you all right by teaching you all a lesson
In 5 years tenure what MS and his cabinet has done for country??? Everywhere I do hear only Sonia Gandhi Sonia Gandhi....Why two prime ministers in one state...Wherever you see some important function Sonia will be there along with PM..Why??? Its quite irritating...We feel that we've handicap PM...and infront of foreign dignitaries it looks like very bad.... And top of it why our previous president KALAM was not given second term?? Because government doesn't want any strong person other than Sonia...

What you would have done to contain inflation.. BTW PC, Manmohan are the best minds in the country to contain inflation... The international food prices are so high that nothing much could be done.. The agricultural food production shortage in India is due to less attention being given to those sectors which the UPA govt started doing since 2004.. Before that they were totally neglected since last green revolution
now they are diverting it by saying no magic wand.....apni maa sonia se puch uske pass to so many trics hai..tum logo ko juto se marni chahiye....government ke naam par chor ho sab ke sab...achha mamu yee bata ki tumlog kabhi koi stuff buy karte ho ki shopkeeper apne se sara stuff automatically deliver karte hai either you guys raid their shops and put any IPC rule to harrasse them..

why so many naxellite are here in our country..why even after 60 years of your kingdom we people are poor....no proper electricity, no infrastructure, everywhere people are so unhappy, no progress on international level, so much of unemployment, fight on cast, quota....puppet of US and china..never treated border states as parts of country and forced them to take on arm, your government official root level corruption, looting humble people, politicians fighting for their personal interest than for people...and useless dynasty and apple polishing...list will be endless..
