mns has a valid point. nothing wrong in demanding quota for the local people in their home state. same can be implemented (most of them already implement it) in all states.

80%????.. Even if we don't talk abt rest of Maharashtra and only Mumbai and Pune.. the 2 megacities and true metroplis' in this state...how can u justify that? It's a known fact that in Govt jobs; local people will get preference... and to that effect govt offices has Marathi as the working language... No one's contesting that...
But sir.. 80%...itna to SC ST OBC waalon ke liye centre ne bhi nahin maanga hai...thoda to rehem kare.

dear by, you forgot the fact that the states were formed on linguistic basis in 1960s by the then govt of india. what made you think that quota will divide the country. moreover, the quota system can be implemented for all states and some states already implement it.
QUOTA FOR MAHARASHTRIANS OR NOT BUT ONE THING WE MUST ADMIT THAT IF MUMBAI WAS/IS FINANCIAL CAPITAL OF INDIA ITS BECAUSE APART FROM OTHER CONDITION A DISCIPLINED WORK FORCE WAS IS MAJOR REASON. MARATHI,S IN GENERAL ARE HONEST, DISCIPLINED PEOLE AND THEIR INTEREST SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. BANNING OUTSIDERS IS NOT THE SOLUTION BUT SOME WAY SHOULD BE DEVISED TO TAKE CARE OF INTEREST OF LOCAL PEOPLE.
yeah give marathis 80% reservation..... we wont mind it... will start developing another city wit sea shore "SURAT"... this city goin to be the next big thing of india.... i love it..

Mumbai is what it is today because of it being a cosmopolitan city. It is a melting pot of various cultures of different regions of the country and each one contributing a little to the city and adding to its character. Talks for reservations and flared up speeches are just meant to beat up passion and win votes. You need to see thru the politicians actions. They gain by dividing people.
I think MNS have a point. For high skill jobs. People from other states may join based on point cretria. Whiule low skill jobs should be reserved for local people. This should happen in all states in india. National integration will stregthen as respect for each states & its language will be taken care
