Can money buy happiness
by prem swaroop paul on Apr 08, 2008 06:11 PM  Permalink

Ask inhabitants of the so called rich nations at a personal level and you'll get the real answers. How can one be happy when most of the people over there are tied with credit cards and all kinds of loans? It is high class bonded labour.

I don't understand why we should accept and go by such research those are done by some people in the western world, where there is no family bondage, sentiments, culture etc.
As far as Indian traditional culture and way of living is concerned, even if we are poor, we give value to family, relationship, living together etc. the basic foundation to happy living is peace of mind and contentment which is inculcated from within and cannot be compared with financial purchasing power. There are enough millionaires who have amassed wealth but living in pathetic mind conditions. what about the lives of our highly profiled bollywood personalities lives etc.
Money can only give materialistic comfort and not mental happiness.

Iam agree with you, money won't make happy sure.We some of the Indians like you and me wish to maintaine the good indian cultural values in India. The govt. and higher society people are changing India like anything. High society don't mean they are all educated.Eg. If avillage man drinks I can understand he is not eduacted but the same happen to a city man with higher education and salary. What is your reply? Only with education and money you can't survive in this world. Each indian has to think what is good? What is bad? and what we need and what not? Even with millions you can live also with Rs5000 you can live a life? everything should plan well how to spend how to live. Iam telling you sure the less money person will suffer a little in but sure the happineess he got it from his family will never get for the person with million dollars.
But now days yhe Indian culture is going beyond.
