energy conservation
by sanjay agarwal on Sep 01, 2007 12:53 PM  Permalink

yes, some one has to initiate from some where. we can actually save at least 20% power consumption in any given environment and with existing system, without incurring any cost, but with simple basic methods.US has strict energy codes depending from states to states and same needs to be followed in India. Its proven that unless enforcement mechanism is not strict people will not be aware. Most wastage of power and energy are done in Govt buildings. you can still see 100 watts lamp and old fashion 40 watts tube lights in government offices, railway booking, hispitals etc, and works is water and air coolers in most of govt depts still running and consuming huge amount of water. they need to start first at theie level and set an example for evry one to follow. Air coolers may seem to be inexpensive than Air conditioners, but they drink so much water, at an average of 200 ltrs every day in peak summer season in north, west and central india.this is sheer waste of water. such things and other can make a world of difference in teh way we live.
