Hi Veena, Thank you for the useful information. I need clarification about my case. Currently I am in Saudi Arabia. I came here on 20th Oct. 2007 for the period of 6 months my contract is extendable beyond that period. Do I need to pay Income tax on my oversease salary income from 20th Oct. to 31st MArch 2007.

I had the misfortune of holding ICICI credit card, ICICI Prudential insurance, HSBC credit card and through it TATA AIG Insuarnce. I cancelled both insurance before goin abroad. ICICI prudential tooks its own time in refunding my money and they kept most of the money that was paid from my ICICI credit card. Now I am left with 15000 to be paid. TATA AIG started debiting from my HSBC card for an isurance I dont know of. HSBC let them do that and satrted charging. I have been abroad from JUne and TATA and HSBC CC started taking money from my card from September. I called HSBC 3 to 4 times and now they say I need to take it up with TATA AIG. They have criminally done something and now I have to call from USA to all the parties involved and clear it up for amess of HSBC and TATA AIG's making. I am planning to give a case against both. I have to figure out how?
ALL INDIAN AIRPORT SUCKS !!! The services at the Indian Airport is extreemly poor with lot of corrupt officials working at the counters. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I have been working abroad and had lot of trouble with the officials when I return to India.

Whom u r pleading. Government and officials knows about it but with due regards to vested interests of every government employees there will be no changes. Coming to the point of corruption there are many ways but I think one should enter as per the regulations set by GOI and Airport Authority. But if one is coming with a space to elements of doubt then there is a trouble setforward.

hi freinds,
I am also living abroad since from 2004 but I believe indian airports are not upto the level but here corrupt peoples are more. for example in Bombay airport custom people make you trouble and intensionally police call you in corner and money bargaining will start and you know eventhough if nothing is thier in our bag they start open especially those bags once you open, that can not be rebagged that type.
indian custom and police are corrupt peoples.
one more thing while immigration go on watch your passport becasue they tear your passport and than they will harrass you and ask you money later. it is happned with me and with so many peoples. and i sent so many letters to airport authority and tv channels but no response so carefull while you are in immigration.
