It was Kellogs or Penn State (some American University I cant recall now) that first recognized these Dabbawalas (Dabawals?). Mumbai and Indian media was preoccupied with babes hemlines and masala stuff.
This Dabawalas are the Example of Six Sigma Process of Quality Assurance in Todays world.Their Operations are Magnificant. Their process is followed by many IT companies around the world in the name "Supply Chain Managment".They will be example of Future Buisness Process Managment and Risk Compliance.
i have been hearing abt these dabbawalas for the past few years,but i dont know exactly whats their basic operation is?, untill now i thought that they prepare food n deliver to customers . is it true?

Sir, Dabbawala dont prepare the food. They collect food from the clients house and reach it to office place of a person. The most important part is the person who collects the tiffin is not the same who delivers at office. Exchanges of dabbas take place at local railway stations and then taken to various places. all sorting is based on certains marks made on dabbas. No language is used for it.9The reason may be all these dabbawals were illiterate when they started this job)
