While writing the article the author forgot about the finest point/hidden expenditure in sending money through westren union.I feel it's not only very expensive in terms of exchange rate but also in case there is slight eroor in benificiary name, the process involved in getting it right is highly cumbersome(need to contact their belgium office)Presently i feel sending money to india from middle east, australia, united kingdom UAE EXCHNAGE'S EXPRESS MONEY IS THE EASIEST AND THE BEST OPTION. Its' rates a very very competative and hassel free remittance.charges are also very reasonable and incase any problem ,i am sure they solve the same within minutes. The company is really doing well and being managed by highly professionals. It's really worth trying once to send money to india through this channel and find the difference.
Dear All..this artcile is not helpful to you..all NRIs..in Gulf.. Western union is offering low exchange rate..and tranfer fee is high. Best go to any bank with ICICI bank or any other Indian Bank's tie up in Gulf countries..for example..Al Rajhi Bank in Saudi..is best.
i live in Austria and i want to know which is the most cheapest and best way to transfer money to india.Western union is very costly as the exchange rate is nt good and processing fees is also high. _________indiarealmarket.com

I am in US. I prefer Moneygram to Western Union for quick transfers, Moneygram gives a better FX rate than WU and per transaction cost is USD19. I hope you have moneygram in AU. For the transfers that are not urgent I use ICICI because I find they give better rates than WU and MD.

Open an NRI account with net banking, then register the account to which you want to transfer money, then keep tranfer money as you want with no cost. I do the same, I have SBI account and everyday you can transfer 1,00,000 INR to any SBI account with no cost, my salary gets credit to my NRI account.
