Is the key to make this project really low cost is to use naturally available local materials and trditional methods of construction. Rather than going the western of prefab materials which wuld have no reference to our cultura land climatic needs. Hope low cost dosen't mean pushing cheap architecture
In cities like Mumbai Studio Homes in price range of 12 - 15 lacs are need of the hour. Developers can make money and also do some service to society by making such project.

Developers are not interested in service. Nowadays they lost their business. Many are avoiding purchasing houses. Now they found a new way as low cost houses. They may first tell that they will provide excellent house in 15-20lacks, but finally they will provide a house without proper finishing, painting and low quality woods for doors and windows and even improper flooring. Finally they will justify this as low budget

very much true. Many dont keep their words once they get 100% booking. Mohan builders in Kalyan, sounds better choice.
while the current projects by Madhav construction, kalyan , not reaching completion with builder delaying the facilities promised.
Don't construct low cost houses for people - just allow people own lands at reasonable rates.
I'm sure Rs. 15 lacs flats would be worth not even Rs. 5 lacs (from cost perspective). rest of the money will be eaten by all the middle men involved in building property as well as selling property.
