You should look into so many Indians Heading so many MNC's in the world.

Just because of Sonia , it seems you are extrapolating the things too far.

She received a bachelor's degree from Madras Christian College in 1974, and immediately entered the PGDBA (Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration) program at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. After graduating from IIM-C in 1976, she worked in India for several years (including a stretch at Madura Coats). She was admitted to Yale School of Management in 1978 for a master's degree in Management. Following her master's degree from Yale in 1980, Nooyi started at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), from where she moved on to strategy positions at Motorola and ABB.

I highly respect Indra Nooyi. But only thing I wonder is that is it really necessary for our IIM grads to go for a masters any where in the world?
I am always under impression that a graduation from any of our IIM is a fool stop (except doctorate on any particular subject) and they are among the world best. Is a masters of any US university better then our IIM PGDMA (except Havard)?
I do not think so.
The only fashion in western world is that not to except indian expertise, including that of IITs and IIMs.
Only our professionals must fight for recognition. And one of the way is our IIT and IIM professionals should not go for any other DEGREE, particularly north american.
Believe me, still, the multinational world will accept them cheerfully.
And it must be proud for all indians.

Ok guys. lets cut all our business with usa...ok...and let all our IIT and IIM people and other engineering scinece managemant graduates stay in india....so now what...do u guys think india will develop at the pace with which it is developing now atleast? If yes How?... It doesnt work that way......India always has to depend upon usa or europe.....because we r not smart enough to comeout with something usa or europe would become crazy to buy that! I love this country better than many people but this is harsh reality....none of our IIT or IIM traiing can give the world a nobel laurette or a top CEO who can "define" a modern way of business till now......until then we r just service providers and nooooooooooo product development!.....nol latest medical technology....no agricultural research......nothing......our immidiate comfort is to serve some usa or europe and get some moneyyy...buy their goods....and say that india will be a super power!ha ha ha ...

I disagree that if all the IIT ians and IIMs were to stay back, it would bring about a radical change. I dont think so. This is mainly because, we dont have research oriented curricula in our schools. We are a poor country. IIT and IIM s need money, we dont have money.! as simple as that. and money makes the mare go

well said. It's the harsh reality that we are lacking in so many things but we are just dreaming about becoming Superpower. First, let us bring all our villages have the minimum basic facitilies of good medication, good schools with proper facilities and teachers, good security, enough electricity, enough water, good environment, good infrastructure; once these are available to all the villages in our country and then let us talk about becoming Global Super Power. Without fullfilling the basic things in all over the country, talking about Global Super Power means we are dreaming a house without having good foundation. So called great politicians, economists, ministers CEOs should stop talking about 'Global Super Power' maniac and instead they need to start working on all those basic things for every common citizen and for every village. Another fact, is our education system needs to be revamped totally as we are just blindly following the system defined by British people for their benifits and this is just producing good clerks and good workers only but this system dont develope any creative/innovative thoughts in the minds of the students. Another problem is, Both Central & State Governments dont show any interest in improving the standard of education all over the country but every year decreasing the fund allocation for education department and allocated funds are being mis-used, so much politics, corruption, religions/quoto factors are playing in Education.

all facilities in villages. do u mean that we have these facilities in our cities. r u joking? don't we need it in big cities first. non of our big cities have any proper facility. thats true all big cities are becoming worst and not suitable to live. the government inability to collect the taxes as it suppose to get is the problem for all the fund related problems. and one more certainly corruption, thats why they couldn't collect taxes. hahahaha

The majority of highly skilled & excellence seeking technical people leave the country because of lack of opportunities/ places/ resources to continue their excellence here. this is true even of fields such as genetics, environment engineering, etc.
There is no dearth or overflow of patriotism - it just isnt a part of the professional consideration. In many fields there is only 1 centre of excelence in the coutnry (if that e.g. ISRO) & they are govt. run - with few seats & a life not commensurate with the achievements ...

Our obsession for US starts from the top
by A G on Oct 13, 2007 07:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The US has always kicked us at our times of need. Remember the Tarapur fuel, cryogenic engine from Russia, super computer from Cray, permanent seat at UN and may be many more. Yet our unelected PM is over-obsessed over a nuclear deal with them which will cost lakhs of crores of rupees. He has no guts to tell our own scientists to excel and produce power from huge amounts of indegenious thorium in say 5 years. If this is our mentality at the top, why blame anyone else ? Yes, we are US-centric from top to bottom.

abe oye thorium cycle is an experiment..it may come off it may not.there are chances in it in india..there are many failures ...and the indio -us nuclear deal is an handle taht will allow india to come in nuclear mainstream...its more then just india -us deal..it opens up new avenues for us,,..and agreed US has kicked us in past..it was because we were irrevent...india was not a reconisable military, economic power which is why it was kicked around and we opposed us to add to it....now things are different...india has a sizable economy and we are becoming a staragic ally for us,..they need us and we need them...so come out of ur wekness and try to see things at global level rather then being stuck in cold war mentality..
