recruitment means
by Virendra Singh on Oct 12, 2007 09:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The HR heads of each company talk really big in front of meadi. It is a separate thing how they actually hire.
From my personal and frineds experience --
1) The HR colludes with recruitment firms so that they get a share from recruitment agency's fee.
2) Most have no idea about technical institues of India. One HR person from an MNC biggie once asked me (when I told I have an M.Tech from IIT) - is this an engineering course?
3) Most of them lie during briefing about their company/project.

Interview with Chitra Sood
by suhas nawathe on Oct 12, 2007 04:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Shobha asked two questions in one. While answering, Chitra missed the 1st one which was more important and answered only 2nd. The one which was missed out is - To recruit 150 people, how many are required to be interviewed by MSIDC ? Can the answer be sought again ?

In order to recruit 150 they not need to interview specific numbers as it depends on talent, if they found those 150 while interviewing only 150 den they hire or else they looked out for more, so the point is quite clear i believe. No need to count n caculate how many of them they interviewed...Its HR norm...

Chitra sood may be doing a bit sensible things
by Prof R K Gupta-India on Oct 12, 2007 03:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The companies specially MNCs have big responsibilities. They should not blindly patronise a few schools like some IITs or IIMs.It is insult to Indian talent and of wentire University system.History shows best talent and busienssmen are noit form these chools and from metro towns.Still they support blindly. This is not correct.Talent is there through out the country. Many good students may not get into these Institutes by a margin of 3-5 marks.Which means nothing. The whole examination system is defective. They only test a part of brain capability not entire personality-risk taking capacity, attitudes and real understanding and application ability. These some large Institutes are merely riding on back of huge grants and waste public or foreign money with unnecesary setups.Little has been done by them to contribute to original research or patents or solving societal problems. We could notn Indianise knowledge so far. They are cheap clones of West.Be it IIMA or IITD or any one else.Companies should also see if they are supporting recognised schools only.Merely money and glitter is not education. They should avoid unapproved schools and also stop offering huge paypackets and go to 'far and wide' Institutes to enourage the youth in India and they will not regret.I have seen brilliant guys in far flunbg places having good skill sets.India Inc and MNC should stop vulgar display of open support to these few elephantine setups of not much worth but with too much arrognace and over expectation.

I agreee to your view totally. I had worked with IBM previously, I had a chance to visit the IBM Research center at IIT Delhi for evaluation of some kind of product developed by IITians there. I was surprised to see the product developed by the IITians. It was the worst ever product I have seen, even a MCA student of some correspondence school could make it much better than what they had made and they priced it so high that it seemed like some rocket science they had used in it. IGNOU... Zindabad!!!

Talent or waste
by Anand Raj on Oct 12, 2007 03:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Microsoft developers r worst developers. Every product of theirs is ridden with security loopholes and flaws and basic stability issues. That shows the quality of staff recruited by them. Had it not been Indians in Microsoft, even that wont have been possible. IIT bred engineers are mere dumb creatures. If microsoft wanna hire real talent search for the 14 yr old whizkids and groom them. Ethical hackers, crackers are other options.

Dear friend,

You are talking about an MNC which has made the IT industry. The Internet Explorer u use is an MS product...
Looks like you have flunked into their interview process and is spilling over your anger by writing illogical..

I think guys owning stocks in software companies must start selling them now! If the bright engineers of these esteemed companies are haggling and wasting their time on rediff over the origin and the ownership of trivial stuff like internet explorer, it shows what level of work load they have at their offices!
p.s. for the smart alecks who will pounce on me, accusing me of writing the reply and wasting my time, i am a freelance loafer with no pretensions about being a computer software / harware geek / nerd / techie!

Neha is right man.the product is originally developed by spyglasses, later it is sahred with MS, that may be a different commercial interest of these 2 companies.

The discussion is on whether "Internet Explorer" (by that I mean the Internet Explorer as a product , not just any web browser) a Microsoft product or not. This following link might be able to shut ur mouth

Listen smarties....NCSA Mosaic has nothing to do with Internet Explorer....infact, NCSA is the origin of Netscape .. and thank me for educating cynics like u :

(taken from the link in my previous post)

" Marc Andreessen, the leader of the team that developed Mosaic, left NCSA and, with Jim Clark, one of the founders of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), and four other former students and staff of the University of Illinois, started Mosaic Communications Corporation. Mosaic Communications eventually became Netscape Communications Corporation, producing Netscape Navigator."

OK! So its an MNA which made IT industry. Im neither using IE nor Windows. Im using Sun Solaris and Mozilla Firefox(The best in the market). I wont even think of Microsoft intvw, im working on UNIX. AS far as Microsoft Windows NT OS is concerend it has been copied entirely from VAX VMS(Solaris from Berkley BSD). MS-DOS was copied from the then IBM-PC DOS by the great person whom u all know and later branded by his as his own(which is not the case).
Talking about IE it has too many vulnerabilities. It has copied a whole lot of features like pop up blocker and tabbed browsing from other similar utilities. MS IE is a brand of Microsoft and its product. No doubt abt that. But where they got that technology everyone knows.
Even the new Vista is a copy of MAC OS.

Im not a MS hater and appreciate its user frendlyness which made the layman use computer.

But sayin they got the best team is untrue.

Also they charge a hefty price to make owner rich. Better OS like linux is available free of cost(CD been delivered to ur doorstep free of charge. they bear the postage cost also). Thats the power of Open Source.

Rest i need not say every person knows abt it.
Pls feel free to seek any more info

Why the heck they have to give free of charge? It is the power of jealousy against MS. Who forced people to use MS products? It is because of strategy, business tactics. They are not cheating peoples and not all peoples are fools

They give it free of charge coz it was developed free of charge by participation of people around the world.
Educating urself abt this product is free. business users r charged nominally.
no jealosy but monopoly of MS for which MS was sued and fined millions in dollar by court on MRTP.
Nothing belongs to MS to stake Intellectual Properties Rights.
Cheating people by chargin high n giving sub standard products only to be handed over service pack time n again.
Mani may just use it as a playstation to play game on. so u wont realise it. ur use is minimal to understand the intricacies.
