I would like to ask are on-line applications really fake. I applied to microsoft around 8 months back. They just shared a automated reply. In my covering letter it clearly states that I have a plan which I wish to execute from their side. Pros and cons are also listed in the covering letter. There will be tremendous value addition to the organization and organization can increase their earnings also.

If you have pa project and its execution plan with you, is this not considered as talent? Is a plan not a passion for technology? Can a plan not be useful for people?

The universities/colleges listed above are among the top colleges in India and if Microsoft does not go there, there will be placement.

With all respect, can she let us know how many below average colleges have been visited by them and what is the hire %.

Guys

Dont take things to personal. Probably your plan dont correlate with the organisations plans. Hence they wouldnt have approached you. Microsoft is not the only organisation where you can prove your talent. You have 100's of companies in India. Approach them.

All the best.

You have your competence to look at. Given scarcity of skills, Bangalore companies go to Delhi and then Delhi companies go to Bangalore.

There is no way someone could rejected on basis of region.

recently on 1th and 12th oct Microsoft visited the campus of CET BHUBANESWAR,for the students of CET and NIT ROURKELA.but it didnt invite students from colleges like Silicon institue of technology,Institute of Technical education and Reasearch nd some very good colleges which have some really talented and hardworking students which can fulfill the criteria of innovative idea generating people.just because these students failed to get through NIT and CET that they become ineligible for sitting in their campus.

Nihit - Microsoft is hiring only 150 engineering graduates out of possibly 300,000 engineering graduates that India produces in a year. For obvious reasons they got to have lot of filtering in the initial stages and therefore they go to good colleges only. For others who are passionate about Microsoft can always join them as lateral recruits. Most of the private colleges like Silicon and ITR bolster of good buildings, large number of PC infrastructure and facilities like laptops for each student etc. But please check on real parameters like student teacher ratio, qualified faculty, good labs etc. Check the number of faculties who are permanent staff and who have done their masters and PHD and are passionate about teaching! I can tell you they are very few. Most of the faculty members in these colleges are ex students, who treat their job as a stop gap arrangement before proceeding for greener pastures. Engineering colleges have mushroomed in Orissa (following the South Indian model) and today almost everyone goes to an Engineering college after his 2. Doesn't mean that Microsoft who recruits only 150 will visit and consult all institutions under the sun for their talent pool.

This was followed by Bill Gates.....
