I think this article really gives some useful tips. The important thing is to never take your job too seriously otherwise you become a corporate slave. I experienced it myself but now I understood that if you take it as a game it is better!
I've started going by public transport these days whenever possible.. It just takes off all the work worries & brings me to day-to-day life, hussle-bussle etc which is a nice exp compared to before when i used to sit in my car or office bus n just think & worry abt work.
My goal to break the shackles of work pressure (in the order) 1. Contribute something to the people around us (non-family, non-related) - any kind of help - helping them fill a form to assist a needy to pay up for his exam fee. 2. Break from work every 6 months for a week or 10 days - no comp, no mobile, no internet, no tv. I hope I can do this sometime atleast 3. Get spiritual: Try to invoke the inner me & discover myself. 4. STOP WORKING FOR A LIVING :D
it is a nice simple piece of advice. i agree to it for it is extremely important to realise that we do not allow the work to dictate our lives. i have a feeling it is a corporate tactics to create an atmosphere of competition and extracting the best of everybody and rewarding the one who was the best! we lose so much peace of mind in this rat race & why do we always need to keep running when you see no end to this madness! life is all about balance & that cannot be compensated by any amount of money!
