BioDiesl policy
by noor mujawar on May 26, 2007 02:35 PM  Permalink

For promoting biodiesel govt.(state also)should give all tax exemption i.e. vat , excise on raw material. Then should clarify how to sell in market bcos psu rates r not at all feasible, open selling is not a leagal option. For getting fessibility in production import of waste veg. oil should be allow freely(now has to much ristriction ,& higher duties) which will make proposal attractive. This has to be done till we get good supply of oil indegenously.
In all central as well as state govt. should make clear policy regarding bio Diesel i.e. how to sell ,all standards of BD ,tax exemption ,any subsidies etc. with out it there is no future for biodiesel in india.

This is good move for farmers.. but there are problems..
by Ramakrishna Kandula on May 23, 2007 01:07 AM  Permalink

All land is going to SEZ's which will lead to less land for agriculture. This is bad sign for india as we may end up in importing food products.

I heard previously that reliance is opening mills where they will take jatropha from farmers. I don't know what is the status on this.

I think big oil companies should have regulations to help farmers to grow alternate fuel using jatropha, corn etc.

We have to be oil independent in future.

That's the main goal..
