Beware Taxman is watching
by sushilbhartia on May 04, 2007 01:41 PM  Permalink

Investment made in shares or units of M.F or any other means required to be reported in AIR which called for scrutiny of cases. Then taxman should look into only that matter on the ground cases r selected for scrutiny.

Dear Chakraborty, I wish to add some more things to what you have said. The IT department dont ask the question to the political parties what is the use of spending so much money when there is a stipulated amount of salary only paid to the member of parliament or essembly. Is nt it surprising that their salar may be 15000/month but they spend crores to become the member but of course there is many ways these peole earn alot of money.

Also, what about policemen and politicians having a major holdings in dance bars as we had read some time back in the newspaper. I think, the salary which these people get, they can just manage their household. Then from where these stakes in the dance bar come from? Can any IT officer bring them under scanner? Can any 'maikalal' IT officer do it?

We will also need finance to run this organization. How about every membter contributing just Rs.100 p.a? Even if 10 lakh people join, we have Rs.10 crore p.a. to manage the day-to-day activites throughout the year.

Excellent idea Venkatesh Shekhar. History proves it that nothing has been worked out without unions. These handful of politicians and Govt. officials dominate us because we are still not united. I assure you I will be the first member if any such union is formed. The organization can be hierarchied as national level (HQ wherever you decide), state level (every state should be covered) and city level (any city where even 50 people agree to join our organization).

Let the website develop by Mr. Venkatesh and we will all join as early members. Let the group grow and I am sure, as the group grows automatically media will catch it. Or even, we can inform media to publish an article on our website and motive of the website.

Is there any taxman for the PETTY SHOPS
by Naradar Pillai on May 04, 2007 12:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Numerous petty shops in street corners are prominent. is there a taxman to watch them? we see hawkers in the upmarket areas of Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai & Delhi who sell, Choleybaturey, idly, vada, dosa, cigarette, pan, beedi etc. A 30 paisa pan leaf with another 30 paisa enclosements is bing sold at a whopping rs.3.00 (rupees three) and the value keeps raising even to rs.10.00 (rupees ten). they take money and give no receipts. what is the FM doing with that transaction. On an average day a Pan wala sells around 300 units of the pan totalling Rs.900.00 for which his base expenditure is Rs.180.00. For a profit of Rs.720. there is no tax. but for a salaried employee, he is taxed. In short, tax is only for the job one does and not for the profession. great

This is the problem in India.. Catch the neck of pan shop, tea shop guys to cough up taxes, when he is struggling to meet one time meal (not two/three times) in a day..Mr. Pillai..we dont find any difference between you and Hon. Finance Minister. (this is exactly what he is doing)...

May be The Hon. Fin Minister has a vision for India..but, it should be overnight, and at the cost of Poor Middle Class..

Our country can not shine, when poor people are worrying of their one time meal. Come out of the AC Rooms and see your surroundings.

the middle class people are choking..and trying to breath, because the Govt has pushed them to the bottom of everything.

Dear Mr Unknown,

First it is a shame to write an article without your name!

Mr Pillai has mentioned in his message the economics of panwalas. With such profits there is no chance of going to sleep empty stomach. All business class has some way or other to hide profits and not pay tax on it!

You are correct Mr.Unknown in saying "the middle class people are choking..and trying to breath, because the Govt has pushed them to the bottom of everything". That is why the news Indian becoming a trillion dollar economy doesn't please me when I see people on sleeping on pavements, they do not have clothes, no proper meals, no health care, and much more but no space to write. But please mention your name while commenting. There is nothing to afraid. This is just a group discussion. Nobody is going to put you behind bars or kill you for critising Chidambaram (lungi).

SALARIED CLAUSE
by Venkatesh Sekhar on May 04, 2007 12:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Salaried clauses of India,

Apart from the various unions that you people are part off from your employment side, I wish that there should be an association of all 'SALARIED CLUASE' in India.

Which will not be like the existing trade unions etc.,

This association will include the salaried clause and their family menmbers. It will act as forum to fight corruption. (So those salried people who take bribe in their employment please keep away from this association). It will be a self help association / forum who can communicate through internet and email.

This forum will be a platform for all members to have their knowledge shared and use the know resource of the group.

Growth of India is in the hands of the Salaried clause people only. People belong to this group contributes maximum to the growth of this country. This forum is not against the emloyers or capatilists. This forum would concentrate on strengthening the member's knowledge level and protect them from the poisunous clutches of corrupt people.

I suggest we should have a website for this association through which we will all communicate to each other.
