RE:taxation in india by sanjay verma on May 04, 2007 04:40 PM i agree with u. these crooked politicians are only sucking innocent and law fearing public, but they dont make any rules or laws which can cut their uncontrolled powers. when judicial system which is a non benefiting mechanism (polititians do only those public work which can get them votes, not countries benefit) they(PM/speaker/sonia/sibbal etc-etc) donot even hesitate to pressurise the judiciary even. shame on the polititians.today they are standing beside all goondas/law breakers/mafias and left aside a law abiding citizen, see delhi sealing episode in which they r favouring law breaking shopkeepers. 1 day nature will teach all them for their injustices towards broader society. sanjay verma

Most of you have put forth that the tax laws in this country is biased against the salaried class. There are several trade unions and labour unions in India, but non represent or raise voice in favour of the tax paying salaried class.
This vaacum is felt by most of us. Out of 50 million or so salaried emplyees, about 18 million are filing their annual returns (rest are in non taxable range).
I do not mean to start an Union for this taxpaying class. I am trying to create an association or forum of the salaried class who can come on a common platform and learn from others experiences and share their experience. Several guys in the name of consultancy services rob the salaried class to the max.
As it was discussed earlier today (4/5/7) based on various email supporting my idea of starting a forum of salaried class of India I have blocked and paid for a website www.isc.co.in (Indian Salaried Citizens).
I am working on identifying people to do the web designing.
Please forward your emailsto sekhar.venkatesh@gmail.com
In India tax is only charged on Salaried people for their hard earned money. I think that we are the people who are driving Indian Economy.Tax is not charged on corrupt ministers. We have a request from ministers that if they cannot pay well, no problem, but at least dont do TAX GHOTALA.Mr Chidarambaram must provide the data to public how much tax is collected from non-salaried people or the tax from salaried is supposed to be the income for beaurecrats in india.

you are right.Govt should first make sure that the minister himself is following the rules.
Taxman is anyway supposed to keep a watch on such things. They do it but not to catch the tax evaders but to know who can give good chai pani rather malai as the bribes in IT Dept are not in hundreds but thousands and sometimes lakhs. Taxman is watching our spends but who watches their spends? I have myself been dealing with IT Officers while working with my previous employer and many a times I myself have the paap of giving bribe to them. Though knowing that ethically wrong, I had to do it since I had to work for my family and keep the job. Also, few times I am being forced to pay bribe for some personal work in BMC office. That time our family was passing through very bad times and still we had to bribe these BMC officials to get our job done. We know the background of our politicians from where they come and how their lifestyle changes ones into power. Can somebody take on the Tax Dept and Govt?
there are multiple taxes levied in india and hon'ble PC proudly declaring that collectios from taxes are much in excess of even revised budgets . only due this credits he stands as FM. ther is no proper utilisation of public hard earned money which is beng taken away in the form of various scams involving huge sums.

Offcourse it pinches all the salaried class a lot to part away with the major portion of there salaried income taken by the government ....only based on the they provide the security & improvement in infrastructure ......theses bases should be stopped as its duty of government to provide the theses basic...only they should give benefit & future incentive to proper tax payers by
1) Medical facility in good hospital. 2) Education for there children. 3) Give pension in old age.
these are basic thing government & PC should incorporate in his policy to country genuine tax payer.
The last who is watching ....... government spending.. monitering it....
I wish the finance department 10% of all their ingenuity in tracking lakhs of crores of rupees circulating as black money or lying in swiss banks. but they wont do anything to catch these culprits because all these monies are held by big shots and the political bigwigs of the country. every one of the political parties is holding thousands of crores in unaccounted money. Mr. Finance Minister, are you not aware of this? No wonder you are turning a blind eye towards this because you are yourself a beneficiary

Agree with you Harish. We can surely tell that even FM must be having crores of black money. This Congress Govt., ones they are back in power, have ruined middle class families' lives. I feel that lungi (as we know Chidambaram by the name) is the worst FM we could ever have. The past FMs were no good but atleast better than lungi as they had "live and let live" policy. But lungi's policy is "live and do not let live".
in a case, where the company gives advance for official tour purposes (by cheque) and we use our personal credit cards for official purposes, how to show/mention it in AIR and yearly income tax returns.
First the FM should catch all the buisinessmen out there, who constantly work on loopholes to avoid tax.. We salaried people are the worst sufferers, as we dont earn as much as them, but we pay more tax..
