Promoting Black Money
by on May 05, 2007 07:10 PM  Permalink

Mr. Lakhotia,

Your message is to promote people to have Black Money and to encourage them to hide it by making careful purchases. Not good at all.

Well analysed and no indian could file a counter. It is the destiny of our nation to divide people into four groups. Those days it was the caste divide, now this status divide.

Poor PC
by Ajeda on May 05, 2007 11:14 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Readers and Dear Tax Payers,
Just wait until next general elections. I am very much sure that PC will reduce the taxes just before the elections, get elected to the seat of FM again, and then increase the taxes for next four years. This cycle will continue until the comman man realises this underlying trick by the FM and votes him out of power. I APPEAL EVERYONE TO PLEASE BRING BACK MR. YASHWANT SINHA AS OUR FM... Pls Note: I do not mean bring BJP back to power..

none of these will affect poor and lower middle class
by Gopi nath on May 05, 2007 11:07 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Infact, none of these check points will affect poor and lower middle class people so why the cry ?
And even the upper middle and upper classes need worry about such check points if they are really law-abiding citizens.
Why should we bother if politicians and industrialists are not honest ?
Let us co-operate with these three wise men (Dr.Singh, Mr.Chidambaram and Dr.Ahluwalia).
Hope they will see that our money is put to best and optimum utilisation.

I disagree that Dr Singh, PC and Ahluwalia are wise men. What have they done to reduce administrative expenses?? Fringe Benefit tax must be levied on government employees ( from Government - who is their employer) Only then we will know how much of fringe benefit the government employees and bureaucrats are enjoying. Now they are hiding under the excuse that government cannot tax itself.. but it is a way by which A"we" will know the extent of fringe benefit enjoyed by these worthies. I do not see how a business travel is a fringe benefit.. It is a conspiracy by the bureaucracy against private sector and a conniving finance minister. Definitely they are not 3 wise men of India. Nor are they benefactors of tax payers.

What do you mean Mr.Gopinath, when you say that we should not bother if politicians and industrialists are not honest.

Are they not citizens of India like anyone of us. What is so special about them that they can be allowed to get away without paying taxes etc.

Has anyone ever bothered to find out whether the politicians themselves pay taxes honestly and regularly. If the industrialists, politicians, filmstars pay their taxes regularly, there will be no need for the government to tax the middle income groups.

So before making a statement, please think twice about what you are trying to say.

by Upkar Singh on May 05, 2007 11:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

no wonder chidamabaram is called chidu > absolutely lopsided tax polices.
Better to remove all these so called exemptions , keep a uniform tax rate of 15% . based on voluntary assessment , and gv gradually increasing incentives to individuals who pay higher taxes. full stop.

Taxman is watching
by Tushar Kapoor on May 05, 2007 10:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The current finance minister is probably the worst India has ever had. He considers the middle class salary earner as thieves and crooks, while very convieniently turning a blind eye to his own community (the Netas) and businessmen. Imagine having to live in your own country and being treated as a crook and thief. It is high time he just goes away and let us live in peace. I think his days start and end with just one thought - "how to extract money out of the common man", maybe he can write a best seller also based on the same title. He has no vision, no clarity. And this in the regime of probably the best FM India ever had- Dr. Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh is the PM now and if he is also turning a blind eye, it can be seen that all netas are actually a band of brothers

Instead of arguing over all this, we Indians should be united irrespective of income, religion, language, region etc. and fight for our rights. In our country, the rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. Why dont we have a tax system like in US where the tax system is based on inflation,no. of dependents etc. and not on our package. Our governments are looting us. Friends we are ghardly able to save any money. We do not have any hard cash left. In order to save tax, we invest 1lakh and more. Then there are other taxes like service tax, education surcharge etc. Why dont these ministers have a single tax rather than so many taxes. What is the point of earning as a salaried people, when a sizeable amount is going by way of taxes. and what are the taxes being used for? We indians do not know. The politicians should be accountable for this. If any politician is indeed patriotic like they claim to say, let at least one of them set anb example by paying tax worth 1crore per year to Indian Govt. because they are earning lots more and also enjoying free services.

Samir(a common salaried indian)
