For us getting proper income itself is a big problem whaat the hell this tax is for lower earned people??
Govt shol collect tax from big shots and big corporates and millionares. I agree that 80% of income comes to IT dept is from lower earned public. where is the big shots missing??? many political leaders don't pay tax. if same thing goes INDIA will be in most corrupted nation list. now we rank 76 in world corruption... mera bharat mahaan.
whenevr any amendments / modifications / changes are made on IT, only the salaried people are affected. Only they need to provide PAN for all their transactions, pay taxes (any way it is deducted from salary), VAT, Sales Tax, File IT Returns with a true Balance Sheet. From this middle men also get benefited. But all original wealthy persons, who are earning more than enough, do their transactions illegally without any proof, don't have proper PAN card, partially pay taxes, pakka made balance sheet for filing the IT Returns.
So To avoid such discrimination, what should we do? We as an Indian, should show our unity. If you wait till 2009 election, after that some other government will come to power and continue the same thing with some difference. We should act in a different way.

buddy,uve forgotten some more big fishes-the film stars.They get paid atleast 50 lakhs for each film and do they pay any tax?
One wishes that the present Government is displaced and with it, the Hon'ble FM who is day in and day out finding ways and means to create problems for the middle class..

Big doners for IT dept are loawer earned public. they are not able to save anything for them they pay tax to Govt.While many millinares and big shots are escape THEY DON'T HAVE RECORD HOW THEE MONEY CAME AND GONE.
IT dept has to tighten its grip on millionare not on general public and low saliered people.
I think failure to bring more services / people under tax net has prompted Autocratic Actions by Mr.F.M. And who is the Main suffering class? Off course Middle class which is Paying the taxes through its nose already and Big Guys are going scot free. So The Great (!)
