SIF should go globally.
by Shrikant Thakur on Jun 15, 2007 08:08 PM  Permalink

There is not doubt about it that they should start investing into the overseas market. They must go globally. But I would suggest to try marketing their products in USA first (as it has got highest number of NRIs). Review the market trend for 2 - 3 months, decide whether to setup the production unit in US or not.

Yes, SIF should entered in Global Market. Becasue now day Indian dishes are well accepted in every where. But to set up production line without analyzing market response is an risk. Because there is much difference in Europen & Asian country and our competition are with branded name.

SIF go global

It is a good idea to go for Global and the countires to include Middle East as well because the population of South Indians in these countries are more compared to other countries. For the first 6-8 months better not to try for own processing units in these countries because the voyage period to these countries and less than even 20 days and there are good distributing companies in these places to look after marketing of products - best of luck - Hemachandran

SIF SHOULD GO GLOBAL
by usman saleem on Jun 15, 2007 07:24 PM  Permalink

SIF can market his products globally, by using the services of distribution agencies based on these countries, to capture the market. In US and UK, Indian are more, so they can capture the market. No need to put a unit over there at the starting point, once we export the products from India, based on the sales, we can plan for a unit over there later on. But remember in India the production cost will be less, when you compare to US, other countries. As the company is a brand one in India, and had been successfull in India, it can achieve the sales figure in foriegn also. First let them achive the sales in foriegn market, and then later on plan for a unit which should be suitable to access from Us and UK, other countries. If you see in Middleeast, Indians are higher percentage over there. and the products which SIF is having is regular products whihc is been used by all the Indians regularly. So it can plan to go global and it will have success.

SIF go global
by deepak Sabita on Jun 15, 2007 07:07 PM  Permalink

SIF should go global but the idea to start a production unit in initial phase it little bit off the track they should suppy the products from in India for some perios and see the response from clients and then they should think over that. They should also improve their quality as they have to preserve their products for longer days while exporting.
