its time our national airlines staff got to realise that they are not holding the erstwhile monopolistic position in aviation industry .Even worse is the Avaiation Ministrys attitude to this strike .The ministry should have called in the Army to monitor its ground operations and wear outthe striking staff till they realised their foolishness .But with the Left at the Centre the Govt is turned a blind eye .Whats the use of Delhi HC ruling if the political will to punish erring Indian staff is lacking ... Matin
I think the strikers are following the assumed Gandian non-co-operation movement which is out of context and affecting many, without rime or reason. What is civil aviation minister is doing......idot of the highest order..should have sensed the situation and taken preventive action. He is giving statements to the media and no formal letter / communication issued to the strikers..what a pity..Minister you are unfit to handle the portfolio..please resign and handover to others who can handle it better..

Seriously, I am ready to take over the job of Aviation Minister. To run the Airlines company efficiently, I dont need to be a highly quailified MBA or Ph.D. ; I just need to understand the concept, market trend, Human Resource Planning and Management, etc. If anybody willing to join hands with me to take over these airlines companies, welcome.
Better, if they resign. At least we would get some efficient staffs. After travelling by all domeastic airlines almost, I've no hesitation to say that Indian (AirLines) is the worst service provider.

they would replace those who resigned with equally inefficient staff. There is no reason to believe that the replacements would be more efficient.
Our country has become Joke in the world due to our own policies..
1. President elections (chaos.. a big chaos..) 2. Strikes (although illegal termed way back by supreme court but are continued and no action has been taken by govt. in the interest of common people) 3. No good infra.. 4. Lot of corruption... 5. Nuclear deal (no where.. may be we have to do many adjustments.. surrender rights to test nuclear tests, recycling of nuclear waste etc) 6. High inflation rate (just can not afford house, food..etc.)
the statement by Indian union, We are open to talks. We are ready for settlement. We are urging the management not to be adamant as we cannot put pressure on passengers," J K Badola, general secretary of ACEU, which is spearheading the strike, said. .. is a big joke.. they are harrasing people and give this type of statements..stern action should be taken.... REVOLUTION is in sight..

Yes.India has become a joker.Politicians, Judiciary,Police,IAS,Media, etc.,is the domain of crooks nowadays.People join these jobs to mint lots of money--- not to serve the masses.Business is risky,so join any of these jobs and run a government business.India needs a revolution---French revolution type.

To ItsMe, this is the truth about whats going on in India and not what world thinks about it. World is too busy moving ahead to look at India. Why are we indians so naive to think that there actually is a problem with India?

Despite rulings from the Delhi high court and chief labour commissioner, employees of the state-owned carrier Indian continued their strike, demanding promotional parity with Air India post-merger, disrupting air raffic across the country.
A number of Indian flights were cancelled, leaving many people stranded in airports across the country, even as the government declared the stir illegal and warned of a lock-out.
Flight operations of the domestic carrier were disrupted in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati and many other towns, sources said.
The Delhi high court on Wednesday night held the strike by Indian employees as 'prime facie illegal' and asked them to resume duty at the earliest in the interest of air travellers.
D K Shetty, President of Air Corporation Employees Union, told PTI they were not aware of any high court order nor has any notice been served on them.
He said since the union has not been made a party to the case, "we are continuing with the strike".

The Supreme Court has ruled in TK Rangarajan Vs.Govt of Tamil Nadu and Ors. (AIR 2003 SC 3032) that employees have no fundamental statutory right to resort to strike. On this basis, all harassed passengers suffering from the Indian Airlines strike should file individual complaints at their local District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, under the Consumer Protection Act. It is very easy to do and does not require any lawyer. This will teach these airlines a lesson.

HC should fine on the AirIndia company, as its there duty to take corrective actions to prevent strike or do arrange alternative arrangements. All airlines are making huge profit but nothing giving to their employees.
