Indian strike
by prasenjit gogoi on Jun 14, 2007 04:08 PM  Permalink

Employees are not professional. No one should make permanent employement in ground level.Every option is there if employees are not happy they can leave and join the private airlines if they select(I doubt)

Non Productive Assets
by cheruvil george on Jun 14, 2007 03:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Barring a very few, all those government employees are Non Productive Asse(t)s. The only solution is to privatise each and every Dept which only will save this country. Instead of calling them public servants, it should be changed to public as servants.

You can feel the difference between govt and private airlines from their services, indian airlines services are rubbish and poor, it looks like local train, all employees working are getting salary for nothing, rubbish

First disband the Unions and like private servants, it should be the performance that should be reckoned with while rewarding anyone. I had an opportunity to work with a Central Government Organization. The first thing in the morning the employees indulge for a couple of hours is to find out what can be milked from their organizations by way of allowances, etc. Performance is a far cry.

IA strike
by arungopal agarwal on Jun 14, 2007 03:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Compare Cost to the company of employees of IA and other private airlines, one can find majority of IA employees are paid 2 or 3 times salary(except few, who are in technical wing) with much lessor presssure of work with very high security of job, therefore they are always opposing privatisation.
Time is ripe, that Govt. rationalise all such type of employees remuneration not salary but cost to the Govt.not only for IA but for all PSUs.

Why they oppose privatisation is the fear of losing the job and the inflated perks they get for doing nothing. The resultant fact is that Doctors get richer !

Do you feel employees in private airlines are exploited.
I mean, correction is required at Govt. bodies to bring parity with national standard, not with the exceptions.

Let the strike contine!!
by Kamsten Yangte on Jun 14, 2007 02:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Let the strike contine for as long as possible. Then once the airline is in loses it is best to privatise the whole lot AI,IA and AIX. Then these shabby employees will realise their true worth.
Let the ppl suffer for short time than running these govt. airlines which just spoil the name of the country.
As it is most of the employees are SC/ST/OBC., time to privatise.

I GOT TO KNOW TOP LEVEL MANAGER ARE GETTING SALARY IN THE RANGE OF 1LAKH/MTH.WHILE THIS EMPLOYEE R GETTING AVERAGE SALARY OF 15000 RUPPEE.
IS THIS KIND OF SALARY JUSTIFIED IN TODAYS SENARIO?
I AGREE STRIKE IS NOT THE SOLUTION.BUT WATS THE OTHER OPTION?

what rubbish you are talking about. u know how these employees are suffering on the hands of the management and the government for the past ten years. try to understand their agony, these people are not getting their rights on time and management is holding back their money and these poor employees are depending upon loans and advances for running their bread and shelter. people are suffering for a few hours/days but these people are suffering for the past ten years, right, so just mind your words and try to understand their plight. they are also human beings, having families and for the past ten years they were simply relying on talks and no strike was caused by them, but now they are compelled by the management and the government to do so, so blame the govt./management and not the poor employees. even pilots and engineers of the same organisation got highly paid salaries, but these low staff is deprived of their rights, so be sympathatic with them.

This is unbelievable and totally baseless. Even the employees are not saying that they are not getting their money. They are striking because they want parity in promotions with AI staff. That's all. Where has this problem of past ten years' suffering come from?

It is like more loyal than the king. These people are much better of than 99% of the rest.

I saw some pictures of our so called NRIs, herded by the dozen, in one furnace like room and even sleeping in the toilets, in the gulf. They are the workers building super luxury apartments. They visit India for few days once in many years and these "Indian" masters roll out red carpets in this manner.

Please send these "Indians" for some days to live in these conditions. They have to count their blessings. Most do not even know where their next meal is coming from and these people and attitude have outlived their time.

Please look for another job, if not satisfied and feel victimised. The door is always open for you when others do not even have them. The airlines do not belong to you and the customers are the paymasters.

I would urge the govt to throw open all sectors, so that the fare paying passengers get some relief. Use this as an opportunity to get out of the mess once and for all.

To people who feel sympathy, yours is misplaced. Go out to the streets and let your kindness be shown to the real downtrodden.

Dear Amar

Exactly this is the reason the airline should be privatised.Employees will get more salary, incentives for good performance, more revenues for airline...and hence more benefits for the employees.Of course no work no pay and no job also...but should we symphatise with such few people who will not work and lose job?

'Indian strike'...gimme a break!
by vinod nambiar on Jun 14, 2007 02:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The company name if just complicating the matters as if it is an Indian strike or an American strike...kudos to the GoI and the department of company affairs for allowing such a generalist name for the airline.

It is as if the entire country is on strike..."Indian strike".

Take the clue from Jaylalitha
by Ajay Bankoti on Jun 14, 2007 01:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Learn something from Jaylalitha what she did in Tamilnadu when grade III govt staff went on strike.
Managing airport ground duties do not require any special skills, hire guys from state employment exchange on consolidated pay for 3 months. This will reduce unemployment a little bit.
Then see how these strikers manage come to terms.
Do not tell us about promises, pact, memorandum. We know how it woks in India. See first of all how majority of govt employees are performing, infact they are good for nothing.
We, Indians are upset with our leaders and govt's son-in-laws.

That's it for now.

Regards,

Jai Hind

Chaos in 'Indian'
by Neena Nandwani on Jun 14, 2007 01:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I fully support the cause of the employees. You see when they have a provision of such demands in the rules, why this should not be honoured and timely too. Why government keeps on dragging its feet unnecessarily forcing the employees to take such action which they themselves dont wish to. I think government should immediately resort to dialogue and fulfil their own commitments. Neena

Employees feel dissatisfied. Fine. Quit the job.
Employees feel cheated. File a court case Or Quit the job.
However, there is no reason for a strike. Any strike is unethical and illegal. If you disagree, I will like to hear from you at baransam at the rate of hotmail dot com
