Infosys also gets some 300 videsi interns for a quarter of the year at the Bangalore facility and guess what they get..
1> Free airfare from their native towns and cities in North America and Europe to Bangalore, to and fro.
2> Five star accomodation in Five star hotels.
3> Health club and spa and all the goodies associated with that.
4> Club house memberships.
5> 5 star medical facilities.
6> Infosys top manegemnt doing sewa for you, and arranging mock presentations for you, explaing in detail and great effort what they exactly do..!!! (I am sure they must be needing that..!!)
7> Free sightseeing and picnics and excursion trips all the times.
8> A generous allowance and stipend as well, that too in US Dollars.
9> Lots of undoccumented free gifts and freebees.
10> All this for people who are interns and who do not even work for Infosys, nor will join Infosys...!!
Now figure this....
What do the poor Infosys Enginiers and Developers who actually are employees of Infosys and who actually work for Infosys get ??
Do they get anything of this ? even a fraction of this ??

infosys engineers (not all of them) are graduates of some pretty average college. These guys from overseas went to the best schools in their countries. something to ponder about. You also have to wonder whether they will stay in India without all these incentives. I went to US for internship on the invitation of an american company and i was given all those kind of facilities which locals weren't given.
Your way of hiring the best in business is simply awesome. Also the way you justified the spending on to be interns helps us realise that you are not OVER spending.
Though am not in to the software but am very much excited to learn about Fogcreek. The author gave a good description of the ongoing activities in his parent company. The detailing is quite interesting

Don't Think what he says really works out.. Top companies recruit through the CV's they get and people perform accordingly also...

Adnan this is not true. I was told by many recruiters in top companies that their best form of employment is to convert interns into full time becuase the whole internship is one big interview lasting 2 months :)
