RE:What a Crab
by Karthik Raj on Jun 11, 2007 01:09 PM  Permalink
Very true about HCL Infosystems.

Only the offices in Noida and Pondicherry are Good.
HCL recriuts people from Campus ( look mainly for Diploma guys- only from kerala and Tamilnadu)
train them in Hyderabad and make them sign a bond of 4years (1.5Lakhs) so the diploma guy becomes
a BE guy ( BONDED ENGINEER)

They will give INTERNAL trainings conducted by guy who knows only "how to run a command",each of worth 1lakh
and 1year. Again the bond is cummulative so 4years extends upto 5years.

Diploma guys are paid only Rs.4750 and they have to live with that money
in metro cities without any Travelling allowance.

Now HCL has stopped giving Salary slips, so that the employees who quit the company just because of being Underpaid, cant show any proof of employment. Many of guys who have quit HCL have not yet recieved the Relieving letter and Final statements

There are couple of errors in this story. Shiv Nadar, Arjun Malhotra, Ajai Chowdry, Puri and others quit DCM Data Products in 1975 to set up Microcomp and not in '1976' as mentioned. Secondly Microcomp started marketing TELEVISTA (a company famous for its TV in those days)make calculators and not 'teledigital' calculators

HCL
by V Ravi Kiran on Jun 11, 2007 11:03 AM  Permalink

somehow, the industry does'nt seem to take on HCL along with the rest of the weight! maybe since they have remained the pathsetters when they first started in 1977. They have since then not been able to break that shackle and join the "mainstream" IT Service industry, iconizing the brand as well the founder names.

it's good to have a few names that are apart from the rest of the industry, but after sometime it really should'nt be that way.

Infy,Wipro,Satyam have moved ahead and made an entire industry after HCL came into existence. Should HCL join them or should it remain exclusive? is a question that shall remain.
