Why do we still need the Iranian gas, when Reliance has found so much of gas, which is enough for India. Why rely on some foreing supply coming thru pakistan?? For those ppl, who say that Reliance will charge high prices, this is not possible, coz, the gas prices are fixed by govt, just like petrol prices. Also reliance will mark its prices to International prices (same like we export). So, if we source from Reliance/ONGC, then we save on foreing-exchange, increase employment, dont depend on foreigners etc
The only reason, I can think of, is that lots of politicians/bureaucrats, have vested-interest in the Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. It all boils down to corruption..after all.

Mr( is it Ms...!!!) DO YOU HAVE TO SEE A GHOST BEHIND EVERY SHADOW...??? iNDIA'S GAS RESERVES MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT FOR THE FUTURE NEEDS...!!! USA HAS THE BIGGEST OIL RESERVES BUT IT BUYS ALMOST ALL ITS OIL NEEDS...!!!! IT IS AN INSURANCE AGAINST 'FUTURE SITUATIONS'...!!! ALTHO I DO NOT CONTRADICT YOUR STATEMENT THAT "THERE MAY BE POLITICS' BEHIND THE DEAL, THE IPI PIPELINE AND ITS GAS WOULD BE CRITICAL TO INDIA'S FUTURE GAS NEEDS.....!!!!!
