The message is loud and clear. Indian rulers are worse than Britishers when they ruled us. During NDA rule prices have increased (All- products, services, land, housing etc. meaning all including air). UPA led government ensured that the rise is not by 1/2/3% as during NDA rule but 100/200/300%. Thats really great. I still remember Indira Gandhi rule where in neither the poor nor the lower/middle/upper middle class was happy. That rule was based on the fact the poor need not be governed or need not be given any thing other than crumps and rich do not need any governance or government help or poloiicies or even development. Middle class any way has no guts to question/protest the governance. Same is the case now. Middle class will get crushed under present type of governance. Or they must get some wind falls (IN Hyderabad surrounding areas land prices have increased in unimaginable ways just as inflation few years back in Malaysia/Thailand/Indonesia etc countries)bringing wind falls to land owners. The moral is Indians (every Indian) shall have to wait for miracles to happen for quality and happy living than the better and people oriented governance to happen GS
It is easy to see that only with connections will get approvals of SEZ and thus small businessmen/industrialists will NOT. So the export oppurtunities will conrnered in the hands of big industrial houses. The BJP MPs and progressives who call for uniform civil codes. These MPs are now agreeing to this SEZ proposal, which have seperate tax laws, seprate labor laws and even separate laws for vices (vices means liquor, gambling, commercial sex etc).
The CPM MPs, who otherwise preach economic equality have agreed to a law, that create UNEQUAL tax laws !! And the law on face shos that rich will pay less tax and non-rich, who will be outside SEZs will end up paying higher taxes. So much for their commitment to communist ideals.
The SEZ act has proved what we already know, that MPs are sold out.

As per SEZ law, a private company can approach GoI (Ministers/IAS) with a proposal to setup SEZ in a particular area. If the Ministers and IAS approve that proposal, then policemen will force everyone in that area to move out, and hand over that land to that company. The compensation offered in will be decided by IAS and then may be increased judges. But reality will be that compensation will be peanuts.
SEZ will have some export commitments. And in return they will get ALL sorts of tax exemptions. For 5 to 10 years income tax will be zero. And I am sure, they will bribe MPs after 10 years to extend the 10 year limit by another 10 years. The sales tax, excise, customs, VAT, octroi and all the taxes on SEZ will be zero. There wont be any stamp duty either.
The labor laws will be separate (full hire-fire).
Some states like Gujarat will have separate liquor laws as well. Some states are even contemplating of allowing gambling in SEZ and other entertainment like bar and dance bars (euphemism to commercial sex) in SEZ.
Now if Mr. X exports goods from a non-SEZ area, he will have to pay all the taxes, while if Mr . Y exports same from SEZ, he wont pay any taxes. So SEZ is NOT for export promotion or to get foreign exchange. If we need foreign exchange, a simple law which states that "deposit $ X in RBI and get TRANSFERABLE tax credits of Rs K* , where K is some number decided by GoI".
But SEZ is more of cornering opportunities. It is easy to see that only with connections will
- Do you know that only 30% of the Maha Mumbai SEZ is going to be used for Industrial purpose and rest for building residnetial colonies? Is it not a game of grabbing land as a cheap real estate, next to existing Mumbai? - Has anybody seen the financial numbers (revenue to the govermnet) from Maha Mumbai SEZ? - Has anybody writting crappy advise of grabbing land from farmers given any of his/her own assets for 1/1000th of its value
If SEZ is going to give us growth, there is lot of barren land available. Grabbing land next to Mumbai at dert cheap rate is no business plan but cheating..
no country economy can develop without destablishing the agriculture community , i had happened in england, and now going to happened in india, most of corporate have appetite for land , becuase land in world busineess account a bigger share for hoodwinking the people , infrastructure of industries and foreign export are somethink different, in usa uk , australia newzealand, it is land appreciation and manipulation by reality property nexus which is fueling the turnover of bank, in india, the manipulation without any govt intervention and govt policies, the prizes of land have been let go out of control of common people reach and become the biggest gambling in the hand of big corporate and big political, administrative nexus, all law, police are for higher people help, the poor people have not say,, all soclled communist have also become the middle men of big corporates, world, politican means big middlemen and big commissiion agents,, all big houses are capturing the land for malls, housing society , villages economy weree sustainable , devoid of any social network from govt , they are going to die for want of proper health, food security,, all intellect poeple should come forward and try new formulas of all people development in which all people may prosperous

It will help our economy to crash and eliminate the need for urban growth. With no economic growth there would be no urban growth either.
