ABN AMRO GOLD CREDIT CARD FOR FREQUENT FLIERS
by vijaykumar akhilesh on Jul 23, 2007 01:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

ABN AMRO is possibly the best card for frequent fliers for every lakh of purchases made they give u points which r equivalent to 200 miles which can be encashed or adjusted for airlines apex tkts, Hotel bookings & rail bookings. appears to be excellent card compared to others where the redemption of points is very very costly while redeeming them for air tickets. Never pay that money, mate. It is just ridiculous on how banks cheat us. Fight for it, send them a mail in registered post that you are not ready to pay and rather they are making you sick with this kind of harassment. And keep a copy of that to produce later in the consumer/ civil court. Claim 720,000 for the mental agony that you have undergone.

Mr. Anil,
Also inform (by writing a letter) them that you will approach RBI & Consumer Courts or Bank Ombudsman if they didn't listen to your complaint and reverse back the charges.

Mr Anil sometimes, it happens that u want to pay to the bank but because of any reason payment is not made. Bank has a number of charges called late fee, cheque bounce penality, ------I am not an account person but with the experience of some of persons known I am sharing this.
Now take initiative to call the bank and say them categorically that I will pay the actual amount (3200) only stating that no intimation from your end was ever received. In this case they should have informed you immediately or not beyond the next month. It is in practice that the banks issue statement every month. If the statement is not issued, it is not your mistake.
So pay the actual amount only. Your mistake is that the cheque was not honored, so maximum you can pay the late fee for month. In any case not more than. Remember they can not force you. Be confident, agree to pay what ever is genuine but not like this.
Use this dangerous tool only when essential

No one can offer to give money without his personal interest.
by Prem Prakash on Jul 21, 2007 12:47 PM  Permalink

Due to some obvious reason I never use credit card. So many people tell the benefit and force me to take credit card. My thinking is that no one can offer to give money without his personal interest. Most of the people do not know the procedure of credit card. There are so many complexes that you will definitely make yourself defaulter, which you find after receiving the bill. I think only on this type of human error banks are doing and promoting this credit card business. So beware of this.
