I dont believe having a new president solves the matter but it may evan worsen the situation in coming years, I beleive you need someone with a sharp vision to lead india for next 5 years and should be courageous, should take initiates and follow up on those initiatives to ensure they reflect the need of common indian citizen. Having said that i believe this cannot be achieved till the time we inculcate some drastic changes in present working environment.
I believe its the people of india who can take initiative to chnage the current political structure of the country, though a bit difficlut at the moment but not impossible. We can still bring smiles to millions of facces, just we need to cherish the fact that India needs revolution in its current political system.

Dear Rohit and all readers, When posting replies, please read the articles at http://voice.dreamsindia.com first. So People can understand and be well aware of what needs to be done. Jai Hind!
Why only industry specific measures, there are potential in each and every field, that eventually ends up at good governance - (which unfortunately India is not likely to have in forseable future): e.g. Maintenance of roads only to get another maintenance contract next year, or leagalising roadside unathorised constructions and then few yrs later paying residents heafty amount to widen the road after traffic becomes unmovable(does matter in small of big cities, cost is cost) 20-30% more fuel consumption (along with more tarvel time) because of narrow and unplanned roads More cost on health because of dust & polution and poor living conditions. and many many many inefficiencies that India is living with that adds to overall cost of living and thus indirectly but strongly affects India's potential to compete ....
Are 'educated' Indians ready to understand these serious problems ? Instead, the popular (spread by news media mainly) opinion is that these are the 'normal' problems that Indians can live with and that they need not bother about them !
Truely said sometime back by some foreigner - 'If India uses it's all potential, it would be super power in 10 yrs'
and no wonder, I see India not getting upto developed country status by 2050 with the current trend in politics, media and general approach by it's citizens.
Current growth is not sustainable in long term without addressing inner issues that requires change in governance as well :)
Corruption breeds on a weak legal system. This has been concluded in numerous studies all over the world on this issue. Find a way to punish corrupt judges and advocates and this will solve the corruption problem one after the other. Right now the only way for anybody to dismiss a corrupt judge is to pass a majority vote in parliament. This vote has never happened in India and will never happen. The Supreme Court has to initiate judicial reforms if it has any interest in saving the country.
Indians are corrupt, lax and arrogant lot.We have no national character and we are petty minded and selfish. The businessmen ,the sarkari officials (IAS,IPS,IRS etc) have now started openly naked and open display of loot, corruption, harassment and inaction.Indian police tops the list of sarakari goondas. The IPS and even small officials like ape British masters even now, have only ego but no crime solving intelligence ,are corrupt and misbehaved and highly mafia networked. Most of them deserve to be dismissed. In such a setting it is difficult for any society to develop and sustain it. The growth rate of India is even now is just pea nuts in world and per capita income is going down in real terms.Governments in india churn out distorted and fasle figures and mislead masses.Reservations is one such ploy to catch vote banks of fools & to hide failure to develop economy and create employment and business opportunities at micro level. Resrvations are just a mirage which will help no one but will do mass destrcution and divide society permanenently. Coming back to indian businesses, my experience of even last 7 days shows that US firms when dealt diretcly on internet do much better response than their Indian associates and local offices. MNCs and capitalists are also attacking india by raising salaries to make indian labor costly and breaking homes by foolish laws for women who actually get no relief,do unfair transfer pricing and exploit local resources.is not it?

Lets Make india worth Living, Rains happen almost every year in mumbai and govt is just sleeping although people of mumbai face it with commendable courage. we all can collectively take little steps to make india worth living, it may not get fixed but at least you can say we tried. One step to make your lives simple is that www.indiflight.com, its a world class idea from 2 iitians with no competitor world wide to make finding cheap tickets in india very simple, Now you will not miss your 1 rs ticket. I know its not going to fix a lot of your problems but if we encourage creativity in india slowly we might see more problems of india being solved
