RE:Chimala who?
by AJIT GOPINATH on Jul 03, 2007 11:13 PM  Permalink
Mr Singh u seem jealous about the success of gultis/mallus....dude whats in a name as long as you can make money and make Singhs like you crib. Business is Business - it does not matter whether it is body shopping or jugad as long you are making profits.
All north indians it is time for you guys to get over the inferiority complex and start accepting that they are far more enterprising people in south.

I don't understand - why we Indians are dividing the company into North and South. Mr. Chimala is a successful entreprenuer and we should admire it.
It not about the name or what part of country you are from. The only thing that matters is that he is sucessful and is Indian.
Mr. Singh if you don't like his business then don't use his company's products. But dont comment on any one like this.
And Mr. Gopinath - think before you make any comment like this. It is because of people like you that India will not progress
South Indian and North Indian are incomplete without each other!

Mr.Singh, any self respecting guy respects the family name and is proud of it.

the words you used were right, just that you put the wrong logic in it

If you live in a glass house, never throw stones on others.

The business he was into was clearly written there and you did not understand that and called it jugad business, he is not manufacturing duplicate parts there.

better luck next time, good start though

Mr. Singh,

Im sure any person who has knowledge on IT will not speak like you. If you dont have knowledge on something, better not to talk on the forums like this.

How can you judge a person by his name? and your assumption about chimala's english accent is complete wrong. I know that because I had the previlage of talking to him couple of time in the past.

MR Singh,

Chimala is the surname of Mr. Shasi & it is not an abusing name. Meaning of Chima is %u2018Ant%u2019. By the way, any person should be judged based on their achievements & not by the way how their name sounds or which part of India they belong to etc.

I do not know what your achievement in life is & what position you hold in the corporate world, but you sound like a typical teenager who does not care for the achievement. By the Way I was a Project Manager in IT & recently moved out of IT and started a Tiffin service to tap the huge potential available in food industry.

I would suggest you to be sensitive & thoughtful before commenting about achievers.

Regards,
Venkat.

Leadership

After reading this article, the comparison came to my mind is the interview with the budget airline chaiman, who would like to be termed as a serial entrepreneur. Great to see Sashi Chimala up there, as Hari Mohan says, Hats off.

I am a telugu too...but I place my nation in front. To me language is just a medium of communication and Nation means a lot more.

entreprenuership and andhra

happy to note that you are one of the few people

from A.P who took the challenge to create jobs.

though a number of people from A.P are in USA

and earning very few companies have come up

from these people to create jobs. I wonder

whether the risk taking ability is absent

because of their background or contended with

serving others. I wish there are more sashis

in future creating employment, and I am proud

of him as a person from A.P.

US - A land of opprtunity
by karan khokar on Jul 03, 2007 04:09 PM  Permalink

Have heard before that US is a land of opportunity. But this story vouches strongly for this point. Things like you need an idea, not necessarily money to become an enterprenuer are very encouraging. Truly this is a country built by immigrants.
