laluji seems u require money to pull more garib raths out of ur hotch potch PLANS. Its nothing gr8 in increasing the fares where are the facilities and safety norms and its strong implementation. One cannot pull the trains with cattles - it needs money to pull them.

This is realy good to hear that capacity of AC 3 tier coaches is going to be increased. But the second option can be to increase the no. of Ac 3 tier coaches.
Ithink , redisigning the AC Three Tier coaches , from a capacity of 64 to 81 , would increase , revenue , but make the passenger travel very cramped up , thus on ne hand creating a dichotomoy as regards , improving the passenger amenities are concerned
If the Railways minister does not want upper-class travellers to stage a huge exodus to the airlines the moment he jacks up fares, he will have to pay far greater attention to a) easier ticket reservation, b) greater punctuality of train services, c) safety of passengers on trains as well as at stations, d) clean toilets, e) quality of dining services (which is abysmal on all trains except the Shatabdis and Rajdhanis, and f) integrating railway services with those of hotel and tour operators. The days of treating well-off passengers as helpless milch cows are long over!

Increase the fares if you have to.But please put that money for modernising the toilets and save us hapless travellers from the scourge of unhygene conditionof toilets. eddy williams
