More trains to Kerala
by Ramdas Iyer on Feb 11, 2007 04:16 PM  Permalink

Most travelers from Delhi are to Kerala and there are just two trains a day. Even of these they both follow totally different routes. People trying to go to Coimbatore, Erode or Salem cannot get a ticket under any circumstances during holiday season. The Minister should seriously try to implement more trains from Delhi via Coimbatore daily. ALso the Rajdhani going that way doesnt touch Coimbatore. It is not enough if the Central Government just collects taxes from Coimbatore. It should also give it more facilities

the common man
by praveen raju raju on Feb 11, 2007 01:44 AM  Permalink

lalooji namashkar , the common man in this century is still hanging on the doors and windows of train due to lack of space ,seats ,bogies and trains. The TC and police manages to threaten and earn that extra bucks from the helpless families who cannot hang with their children.Above all , seats are occupied by unreserved people at many occasions claiming to be someone and the TC looks more helpless than the victims.

Need more concentration on 'irctc' website.
by annu v on Feb 08, 2007 03:00 PM  Permalink

Dear Hon'ble Minister,
According to the current traffic problems, online booking service is very much helpful. But need to concentrate more on improving its performance, it is very slow and during peak hours, one cannot book the ticket at one attempt. I don't think it will cost a major money to improve its performance. Guys please express your opinions on this issue... Every person who is using irctc site can express their opinion on the same.
Finally i wanted to appreciate Mr. Lalooji for sparing middle class persons in this budget also. Hope so this is issue will be addressed.

Do not be going on introducing!Cut extra res.ticket charge.Repay to Passenger if the train is late running
by vm kumar on Feb 08, 2007 12:45 PM  Permalink

1.Introduce compensation to passengers:
Read article in Timesof india dt 3.1.07(My t My voice)-Introduce compensation to passengers as that in airlines owing to delays(recent report that the state consumer commision has ordered comp.payments to passengers)Trains running late is the order of the day.Railways to introduce such compensation. It is for the people,by the people, and not onesided rule/law
Railways should justify what is Superfast train and an ordinary Express train before presenting the Budget?
Justify for what is meant by Superfast trains in the budget?Whether no.of stoppages or speed or time taken to cover the distance between the two destinations.(for the same two stations there can be many superfast trains but variation in stoppages/running time)Ex:Between bangalore and Chennai? The train no 2609/2610 stops at 17 stations and is just converted to superfast without any justification.
3.Will a second Class reserved Coach maintain the meaning of reserved coach by the railways? NO they cannot.
In Brindavan express(the reserved class we do find stndees(without servation) and many vendors/beggers constantly move around. Is a second class reservation in day trains is it like a reserved coach. No TTE even.
It was told that the Tr.no 2639/2640 Brindavan express will be made a world class train in the last Budget 2006.That all gone in the wind!!
4.Safety Measures to Improve.
Safety in trains(against theft) is to be improved.
5.Clealiness of coaches:
The coaches are not even cleaned(yesterday I saw The toilets in Rajdhani express at Bangalore bound to Nizamuddin is in poor state of condition. Not even cleaned.First provide adeqaute Sanitary fluids to keep cleanliness of toilets and water to coaches.
6.Exchange of old time table to new like that of telephone directory.:
If you take look at the Railway time table,as an example The Bangalore mail bound to chennai should it take more than 30 minutes to cover the dist.from perambur to chennai central. The train timings should not take a ride on people. Why so much wide gap?The reason is Platform non availability at Central.Very easy by railways to give reply!
7.The railway crew cabins will be made AC.Was the statement by sometimes ago by the railways. There is not even a small toilet provision in the engine for the drivers who runs Shatabdhi express for 5 hours continuously.
Why not the railways shall think on the above lines for improvements first to passengers rather than going on be saying "No increase in fare.New garib rath, vegetable market, new failities in select stations, etc.,
8.No proper Platforms/Roof:
Many big stations do not have roof for passengers who wait in rain and hot sun.The platforms do have non standard height to step to the coaches.
8.Poor Coach design(less comfort for travel):
There are some coaches which is provided like a bus seats(in Brindavan express/Lalbagh express)in day express where the seats are not designed to comfortable posture and there is no leg room and proper air circulation.
Let the railway shall eradicate the above basic problems and then think for introducing "BULLET trains"
9.One minister is announcing and requesting that Bullet train will run between Chennai /Coimbatore and Madurai. The next few days after this we see the other minister saying that it may not be possible. Why such staements. It impresses whom?
Pl do effect some useful implementation for the Passenger and make them Happy at least in this Railway Budget.

New trains to Bihar - U S Tiwari
by uday shanker tiwari on Feb 08, 2007 12:42 PM  Permalink

I request our MOR to consider introducing new pair of trains between Hyderabad and Patna. Huderabad, being a happening and fast developing city is attracting workforce from All India, in which a major chunk is contributed from people from Bihar. Ironically there is only one train available to Patna, the state capital of Bihar, which plies on bi-weekly basis. The plight of passengers is worth seeing as there is a big gap between demand and supply of berths in the train.
It will be agreat support to the people of Bihar if atleast one pair of Garib rath is introduced in the above said section.

Cleanliness Of Compartments/Toilettes and Pantries!
by sanjeev agarwal on Feb 08, 2007 12:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The article seems really good.
If you can pass on the message to the concerned personal, please request them to also pay some attention to the cleanliness of the toilets, compartments and pantry of the trains.Even if the toilettes are cleaned at every 2nd or third station then the travel(specially for lond distances)would become more hygenic. This would also give employment to many poor people, who may be equipped with modern cleaning agents and accessories.thanking you!

new rail budget
by V K Nair on Feb 08, 2007 12:24 PM  Permalink

dear minister,
it's sweet to know that the common man will be spared this time also. thanks. while finding ways to generate additional revenues to the railways by increasing capacity, please do keep the level of comforts offered to them also in mind. cleanliness in trains and around the station peremises is still in a very bad shape. even major junctions like kalyan, dadar etc are no exception. it is a free-for-all during night at these stations. also it's time to discard old rakes on busy routes like delhi-ernakulam route. very dilapidated coaches are often used in 2617/2618. this train is frequented by foreigners too bound for goa and kerala. your immediate intervention is requested.
thanking you
