The combined accumulated loss of both the airlines is close to Rs2000 crores. Is there any strategy from Mallya to address and bring the airlines to breakeven.
It's very painful to see the dreams of Capt Gopinath getting shattered and along with him, the dreams of us, many of the middle class people. We share but in a capitalist system, this is the fate of any highly subsidized stuff - be in air lines or anything else. As the crude price is beyond India's control and if congestion charges are at the root of this, the policy of the government is to be accountable for not creating more air ports in time. Just for this, we customers are also paying extra for every flight but hats off to Capt. Gopinath, the brave soldier who tried despite the constraints.

Taxes were 221 few months back and now the taxes (as they claim while booking the ticket) are 2075. What the hell is going-on with the Airliners?
Even if Gopinath didnt sell the stake to KF, the taxes are still very high. Its absolutely ridiculous that the goverment is wearing bangles and folding hands and accepting what Airliners are doing.

Thats wat i meant by pointing-out in the brackets. Please check my first line. The tax is still 221 only. Remaining amount is not collected by the Government. Its collected by the Airliners (in various forms such as Congestion charges, Fuel charges, etc).
Captain gopinath deserves all the kudos for bringing about a drastic change in the aviation sector with his bold vision. almost everyone started flying and he had almost realised his vison. Enter mallya and this was bound to happen. the whole vsison of gopi has remained a vision and iam not very sure that he will come out of this mess. Please sell off brand air deccan at a cost to mallya ( he can afford anything)and start off again with that money all over. At least he will know how not to get entangled this time around. Lacs of indians are with Gopi for his vision and want him to succeed

spend Rs 50 at the airport and carry your bottle and snacks. instead of paying a 1000 extra for the ticket.

you joker, hw much money you pay to jet, kingfisher or indian to get coffee or snacks. in deccan you pay half price of other airways. you should be thankful for them for giving atleast water for jokers like you who don't understand the reality. you dumb.....

Unfortunately,They cant provide you property and 1 L rupees cash on hand for you if you are flying more than 2 hours.
Everything needs a change. The deccan brand was in tatters. The way mallya has taken over deccan mite not be ethical but is commendable from a business point of view ..
I shed no tears at all. First, Captain Gopinath had his time in the limelight. Second, he has got a big monetary reward for his brilliant entrepreneurship. Third, Air Deccan flights were always delayed and three critical business meetings of mine had to be put off in one week because of Air Deccan's delays. Am happy that Kingfisher does a better job. So, all of us are now better off! Captain and customrs!

Being a Pakistani, you won't understand that you do not have to be a fuedal lord to make it big in India. We have something called a 'democracy' in India - of course Pakistanis won't understand, it's just not your culture.
There is one thing we have to realize - you just can't make flying cheaper and comparable to railways or bring it low enough for common people to afford. Some things are meant to be costly and when you try to make them cheap, either you become bankrupt or you get steam rolled by an intelligent businessman.
