Gopinath lacked the shwrednedd of Mallya
by Samir V on Dec 31, 2007 03:42 PM  Permalink

Gopinath lacked the shwredness of Mallya. He acted naive thinking that Mallya would let him control the airline even after merger. He should have been shrwed enough to understand the 'intentions' of Mallya.
Now, its only time that Gopinath will be Booted out of Kingfisher.

capt gopinath can quit the company

... and create one more, im sure a lot of deccan employees will follow him. start of afresh, if he does not like mallya and his cut throat approach. gopinath had a valid dream, he could even team up with another airline to bring it up to deccan standards. deccan did something remarkable for the indian aviation industry, something which a mallya, or jet or someone else cannot do. KF airlines is a premium service which had been replicated earlier by jet, so big deal, someone else with another usp will beat KF airlines another day.

see buddy this is not about just getting out & create another airline. even after charging a higher fare, KF airlines has posted a huge loss. so how do u think gopinath or someone else for that matter can offer an airline for a common man & still survive this cut-throat competition?

Capt. Gopinath knows where and how to cut costs and improve efficiencies. Higher fare is not the only way to go about it ..

Capt.Gopinath had a very nice dream. But the hard fact of life is that no airline can survive with such low revenues. At the end of the day,it is the profits that count.

As for Mr.Mallya, he will certainlly achive his dream.Kingfisher airlines is fast eating into the segment Jet Airwys was rulling.
"King Fisher First" is a class apart.. it seems that you are a personal guest Vijay Mallya..that is the kind of care and attention you get!!

Now that chapter is possibly going to be over. We are very sorry and cursing our luck. We wish that Captain Gopinath once again come up with flying colours, take the people in good faith and even ask them to donate money for generating fund, I wish that Captain Gopi will alive again just like a fynyx bird. true, the north east sector has been a much neglected one, except while its election time, and a beeline of politicians, esp congress persons go there to make impressive speeches, little else.

But Gopinath made history !!!!
by taj mathew on Dec 31, 2007 03:29 PM  Permalink

Notwithstanding anything happened, Capt. Gopinath made history and his name will be remembered by India, as a dramatic thinker and achiever. Great man with lots of passion. He had to change because of the circumstances.

He will be remembered by masses as one who provided oppertunity to all to travel by air.

Change for the better
by Rajib Chatterjee on Dec 31, 2007 03:27 PM  Permalink

There's no point in shedding tears over Air Deccan. Its a time when the fittest can only survive. Its true that Air Deccan created a niche for itself with a segment that perhaps could never have flew without DEccan around. But I do have reservations of the word 'low cost carrier'! Its a low cost if and only if your travel is planned a month in advance. For last minute travellers, you pay more, sit on a dingy flight and if the hand luggage has some different dimensions, keep it near your leg and travel hours without food and water. Add to it is the delays and cancellations that became the trademark of Capt.Gopinath. Now that it has fallen it Vijay Mallaya's hand, things can only be better.

captain gopinath
by ramabadhran vijay on Dec 31, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

Dear all,

Kudos to captain gopinath. He is the man who brought the new prespective to indian avaiation industry. I am a travel agent, and from my experience, the serious, business oriented, medium size establishments' fliers are perfectly comfortable with air deccan. no airline would prefer to go late, cancel or re-schedule, and because of the vast number of operations, which no other airline ever thought off, there are only operational difficulties, normal technical snags and weather which causes the delay. with a little bit of more time in the industry, sure, mr gopinath would have overcome those shortfalls. he brought the erstwhile skyhigh fares to earth. Let mallaya act with conscience in suitably carrying forward the vision of gopinath. I think, only because of the success of gopinath, all these other low cost airlines has come into business, and i think, gopinath is inspirational to mallya in floating kingfisher airlines.

kudos to mr gopinath.
