In one article people recently criticized Rs 1 Lac car for entirely wrong reason. Society demands car on the one hand but these people in a moment behave like the real caretakers of environment. From my point of view, this car will settle many dowry cases. How a cheap Car be wrong? It will bring down the prices of other commodities too. Also the value of Rupee will be boosted. If a poor get a car, he/she will use it more judiciously. Let the authorities find cheap environment friendly technologies. Giving nobel prize for environmental cause is not enough. Shedding crocodile tears to see the poor move in a car is also shameful. let the poor come forward to help you check pollution. Money make the people blind. Rich people neither think about cost of vehicle nor about the expenditure incurred in unnecessary drives. Let the poor people teach the way of living. Tata has taken a giant step to boost the otherwise honest people. May we hope that environmental awareness will also be greatly increased by this step because of the sincirety of the purpose shown in this grand effort.
ha ha.. Ratan tata makes sense.. if Fiat punto and ferrari can co-exist then why not cheapest tata's car and jaguar? By the way.. rediff get your english straight and simple! you could have just said POSSIBLE instead of 'should not -impossible' in the first sentence.

angrezi seeekho - samajh jaaoge... rapedix english speaking course mr. sanjeev kumar Rediff is perfect in this case
I understand the euphoria around the 1 lac car thats been in circulation. Our western counterparts would have the real taste on India- frequent breakdowns, rattling and noises from every inside the car. Three visits to the service centre every week which would add up for a poor indian middle class at a total cost of ownership of 10 lacs. I am not sure if indian roads would be flooded with cars but for sure we will have more employment opportunity since we will have more breakdowns every square kilometers. Good save the queen.
it is the pocket which matters.poor man eats in a way side dhaba and rich eats in a five star hotel.but the food value is not changed whether you eat at a dining table or on the cot.when country like india ,where speed in a city is fixed at 50km per hour, it does not matter which car you travel.for a talented writer does not matter which pen he has used, but the words and meaning are important.let us watch and see.it is very good tata's are going to produce one lackh rupees car.it can also cost less,if fiber glass door and roof are used.3.5 h.p. engine is enough for city roads where speed is limited to 50km per hour.watch and see.at least tata's are going to show the world indian technology.good wishes to the team of technocrats of house of tata's.
With the advent of Tata Rs one lakh car,Indian roads would be flooded with cars.Ofcourse it is good to have a car for every one, but would that be having all the safety norms and do we have enough fuel to run them for atleast a decade? Do we have enough space to park them? In the long run, it should not be a burden to the common man to have a car.

Why the rich are so much concerned about saftey norms? can't they see a lowe middle class man running on scooter with wife and two or three children sitting on that without helmets. At least this can will have more safety for them. Polution may be an issue, but this car will replace the scooter so the polution is also not a concern. Only concern is road space and choaked infrastructure. Govt may think for that. Out addition road tax and heavy taxes on second and third cars if one family is having.
Tata is pride for India. Somehow they must close down Hindustan Motors who manufactures the cars used by Hitler in World war 2. Hindustan Motors is shame to India and humilating India's capability!!

But no one is blaming the already existing car makers and their cars.Imported SUVs,Luxury cars are also to be blamed.Y singling out TATA.If any concern is over safety then no one is going to buy the car. This is all marketing gimmick by the competitors.Look at indica,Indigo they are all reliable and reachable to middle class. If people are speaking about environmental concerns the better ask them to trash all the existing cars and walk in the street. The no of cars in Indian roads have increased only in recent years. Why no one was pointing to western countries all these years. All the fuel guzzlers are made in the west and they create hole in the ozone layer, causing Arctic ice melting, increase in global temperature. This environment concerns, green house emissions are plays by west to pass the burden to the third world countries. For ex.take the car sales volume in the US/CANADA,Europe.And Asia,Africa will be never near it.

Tatas are making cars since 1995. However not even a single product from them can compete with any other cars in India in terms of quality, reliability, emission and other standards. Then how can he say that this car is safer and with lower emissions. Let them first optimise their Indica for more safety and reliability before bringing a new junk to the market

do u think a junk product will be a success in india.Jst check out the no of flop cars in india. Indica is a huge success Mr.Hiran...and its meeting the required safty and emission standards in india. For a 3.5 lakh can u can expect the saftys of a Merc ,which costs more than 25 lakhs...try to be more logical and practical Mr.Hiran
