KOLKATTA IS NOT A HOTSPOT IN ANY SENSE..
by MGR Fan on Dec 11, 2007 10:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kolkatta was once a crucible of civilisation and social reform and industry. In 1950, 20% of india's industry were based in Kolkatta...

But last 30 years of CPM rule has destroyed the city in every sense. Most educated bengalis work in other states/cities and visit this city during pooja only.

So how is Kolkatta a hotspot? Only for strikes and bandhs, which they seem to be a hotspot in every sense.

Only when bengal gets rid of its CPM rulers, Kolkatta can get back to its glorious past

Blasouts in Hyderabad ??
by Suresh on Dec 11, 2007 10:31 AM  Permalink

I think Rediff should look at the knowledge of the authors who write articles. The author reports on someone talking about Blackouts in Hyderabad. I am sorry but the SCADA data (a state of the art Star Wars like set which tracks power outages) shows no major blackouts. The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad has the least power shut downs among then ten major cities in India. Now, I want rediff to re-visit this article and let us know on what data has this statement been made.

Tagore, ray, teresa all lived in past. Come to present, how long will you live on past glories?

Amartya Sen is a Non Resident Indian living in London/UK... how has he to do with Kolkatta?

You are an NRI and so it explains why you cant understand the CPM terrorism and its ill effects on Bengal..

You could be the typical elitist NRI who preaches about evils of America, the goodness of Mao and Stalin and Marx, the greatness of CPM , yet work for the MNCs that have a US/European base

Have you ever heard of an NRI who works in a Communist country? Like cuba/north korea? NRIs became rich because of working in countries that moved away from Communism. Bengal should do that and it will become like Taiwan or South KOrea.

The author of this article has probably never visited the living-fossil city of Kolkata. Mamata hasn't allowed Kolkatans to live or work in peace, calling strike after strike after strike for one issue or the other. CPM is trying to undo the mess it has created in its 30 yrs of misrule. Only time will tell how far their efforts will go towards making Kolkata a decent city, forget about restoring it to its past glory. Whenever I hear people saying Kolkata is the next hotspot, I cannot help but pity them on their ignorance of the ground realities.

CPM goondas are trying their best to prevent industrialisation in other states.

For example the POSCO project is getting delayed because of CPM/CPI activists threatening the locals to reject the project..

CPM/CPI are against all development measures and industrialisation in other states.

Now if they are trying behave like this, it only shows the character of the Commies who rule Bengal.

The communist minded elite are the priveleged classes of India and their elitism is unparalleleed. They look down upon the common people as some scumbags.... typical example is people like Rahul Bose. They have elitist habits (dining in high end restaurants), using high end fashion products, talking about some French philosophy etc etc and they look down on local culture and local customs but glorify some communist philophers of past.

Typical Communist response, expected from people who justify the mass murders of 50 million in Mao's China and 500 innocent farmers in Nandigram.

And for patriotism, we dont need to hear about patriotism from the Commies who have sold their heart and soul to China

Are you trying to teach about trade unions and strikes and Communist Bullying to me?

Everyone knows how Bengal wilts under strikes and hartals called by Commie Govt everynow and then...

Wipro, Infy all wanted to set up big development centers in Kolkatta because Bengali middle class are known to be brilliant. Yet they keep away because of Communist Goondaism.

Of course, elites like you support that, because you dont want the middle class and poor to grow out of the Communist Dictatorship that prevails in Bengal

West Bengal is one of the most illiterate states in India.

WBengal's Illiteracy is the gift of CPM's 30 year jungle raj. Try disproving it

Dear guys,

Ahmedabad is a global hotspot because of Shri Narendra Modi. I don't think Kolkatta is a global hotspot, Because Kolkatta is in the hands of illiterate Communists.
