SBI Life is cheapest followed by LIC
by gourav khare on Dec 07, 2007 01:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

SBI Life's shield plan is cheapest for term insurance: Premium 2199/- for 10 lac for 28 years. It seems author is highly motivated by MetLife, ICICI Pru etc. He even didn't mention SBI Life or LIC which is known for cheapest plan. Refer to Outlook Money servey.

More important is the fact that SBI Life's Shield plan covers you till 65 years of age. I do not think any other company does it!

Hi, this is a nice comparative chart which would be helpful to all concerned. Please if possible can you obtain data from LIC / HDFC STANDARD LIFE, TATA AIG. for comparison analysis. I wish to go in for such coverage & my age is 40 yrs 7 months
Please post such charts or give more sites links where we can have such comparative charts of similar schemes with their premium charts

Premiums so low and Sum Assured So High!!!!!!
by Gopal Balsubramanian on Dec 07, 2007 12:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I still wonder if this is possible. Then why are people still going for expensive Mediclaims, Money back and Endowment Policies ? Am I understanding it correct... For example: A 35 year old paying premium of about 9500/- for the next 15 years (till 50 years) will get a whooping 35 lacs at the end of 50th year and he is still covered for 60 years....????

Sir, u will not get back any money if u live. Thiss is a pure risk cover and that money will come only if u die during the policy period

This is term insurance & you won't get anything at the time of maturity. This is a good option if you want to cover risk @ very low price. People generaly mix insurance & investment. Look @ this from pure insurance point of view.

Ever owned a vehicle? You don't get anything from the insurance till you are in an accident. It's that simple.

Got it buddy !... "Sum Assured" is indeed a tricky word. Like Mediclaim for Hospitals, Term Insurance for Death....
