I know, when Noida land was acquired, farmers became crorepati ( 10 Million Rupee)
It takes a life time to earn this much money. Farmers got it for 1 acre land.
Without having actual data, author is misleading us. One should come out , what is land price before project was decided and what it is once land is acquired.

Same thing happened in NAGPUR for the IT park only (Not for MIHAN).. ppl got Rs 10 lacs per acre... lucky ppl re...
As far as acquiring land, giving compensation to the people and job to them is good. But because of any political hand if farmers doesnt get justice then this project is of no use. And is it not possible to retain our nature and set power plant else where so that our nature is not effected. As natural resources in india we are loosing day by day. And we people like nature and greenary only in photos is it. Pls do think about this.
I am in the vicinty of the proposed project & working the state power plant as an executive. I have interacted with several poeple who will be affected by the proposed project. based on the feedback i have, i am not at all agree with your article on the view of their aprehension. they are eagerly waiting for the project to come, but they expect good compensation & Job opportunity.
Who are to blame.. All shout and cry for Power cuts and not enough power in North India We need more power plants energy If Reliance setting up Power plant. This objection coming up. If you scare away industries how r this helping the 6000 people.
They are poor jobless etc etc. If PP comes up it wil give electricity to more than 6000 homes, farmland small scale industries.
Why dont u guys see the positive aspect. Dont oppose the project get a fair deal from Rel & state government & Center. Rel needs qualified persons to work and not 6000 peons. Compensation has to be there abd it shud be fair but not 1 million rupees and job. Take only qualified persons.
Sasan is a forest area and when a project this huge is coming up there, a lot of forest and tree cover may be lost. Can rediff throw light on how many trees and what amount of forest area will be lost to the project?

When this PP affects 6000 people then its a former forest land. (Kinda..Once upon a time....
Of this article? 3000 acres * 1 million = 3 billion rps. If project cost goes up by that much, who's going to bear that? "Law graudate but jobless" How is that relevant to topic? What's the significance of board getting lost? Whenever some big thing comes up articles like these appear. People getting displaced, they demanding exorbitant compensation, some turtles, crows getting extinct, jobless, emotion , anxiety in their eyes, environmentalists proposing some fancy alternatives, opposition parties asking for a just compensation..... This is getting repetitive and boring. I don't know why govt should call for bids for power? Why don't we privatise coal mining, power genration, ask the industrialists to negotiate with land owners on their own? In this country every thing becomes an issue and atbest things move at glacial pace.
No one raised this topic when Lanco bagged the project. Its hard to miss how hue and cry is raised at everything that has Reliance attached to its name. Not that I am supporting Reliance but we are losing out on objective evaluation of the situation when we have such biases.
