Ramadoss is pro-poor/ farmers/retailers
by Anitha Chettiar on Aug 25, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Just imagine the plight of our daily vendors, small markets - all these will be vanished if Reliance Fresh comes in... You will not see the simple bhajiwalis, fishwalis ..in your localities. What about their source of income and livelihood...?
Development is good as long as it serves both the rich and the interest of the poor and the marlinalised of the society. Dr.Ramadoss is right in his foresight.

Well who does not know the gimmicks of Reliance?!.
My recent visit to a reliance mobile gallery in mumbai - witnessed most of the customers mouthing filthy words against the reliance - for whom customer satisfaction is secondary to "karlo duniya muthi mein aur public ka paisa apni jeb mein." (world in one's fist, and public's money in one's pocket.

Dear Anitha,
I think the people are well educated and aware of where they need to spend the money. If they feel that shopping at reliance is going to put an extra burden on to their pockets then they will not be shopping there.
And about the farmers they are being paid a handsome amount by Reliance than other middle men. As the no. of middle men between the seller and buyer decrease both the seller and buyer are going to be in profit.
To run a shop like Reliance fresh there is lot of man power required. The recriuts at the stores are localites. Dont u feel the educated and jobless youth of your locality are getting a decent lively hood.
Please think about the long run and dont be distracted by the political drama.

shaik you are right, anitha doesn't know this, the middlemen are really enjoying, this stupid ramdoss sleeping, let him catch these guys, reliance people directly in touch with farmers and will get better price, there is a catagory, some will go to super markets, some will go to general markets, if ramdoss is so concerned about farmers, let him try to stop all supermarkets and retail chains is it possible, my advice to anitha , please go to farmer and purchase what all you need, don' purchase from retail stores,

Imagine that in a party ( if PMK is one) there is none other than Anbumani to become a Cabinet Minister, this shows the selfishness of its founder and leader. So to expect him to be truthful to any
cause is a idiots dream.Let the consumer decide and if reliance fails consumers wield the sword and it is better Vultures are kept our.

Stop publicizing brainless politicians
by karthick anand on Aug 25, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink

If u think Reliance would trick the farmers by what he says then I tell you that Ramdass is in the same boat...Ramdass and PMK is known for caste based and oppurtunistic politics and they have no intentions to serve the farmers...

Its a pity tht we have to still live with such politicians who pretend to care...Rediff should stop airing their views...they deserve no media cverage

politicians care for traders not voters
by girish on Aug 25, 2007 11:46 AM  Permalink

traders give money to politicians,and
thus buy them.

if reliance can offer lower price then it will benifit more people than handful of traders.

if the stupid politicians r worried that
reliance will play hanky-panky later, they must realise that the licsense raj is over.

many many big retailers, like big bazar, spencers, etc are in the market
and thus there is no chance of anyone gaining any monopoly now.

It's true. They will show the rules of WTO then and any way in the end they will open their stores in India, you cannot stop them. The problem is with the govt. who is not caring for the farmers who is the actual sufferer and anyway these small traders are still exploiting the farmers currently also.

People like these make the country poor. This is a democratic country and every1 has the rite. Reliance will never want to achieve it's goals by suppressing poor people. We need more companies like Reliance in India. This is the only company which is capable of making a mark abroad. Good Luck Reliance .

if you do not want their shops... do not buy... but you cannot tell them not to sell... this is a democratic country I believe...
Those people are one of the top tax payers in the country... a large percentage of public projects are dependent on their money... we should support them...

No Control by The Govt.
by RAKESH DOGRA on Aug 25, 2007 11:35 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think Reliance or other big stores should not be allowed to open in large scale. There is no doubt that they will make more people job less. They will eat up local 'sabzi bala' and small traders. These stores should be allowed on limited scale may one or two in a big city.I have seen at Faridabad.Such stores have opened in many numbers.People whose small business got suffred due to these stores will retaliate if Govt.of Haryana does not awake soon.Already many taders were wiped out in the anme of sealing.
Our economy must take care of man power which is more than surplus in India. We can not emulate western countries blindly.
Central govt. must awake otherwise they will face wrath of people who have lost their 'DHANDHA' to these big giants who are not here to serve peopl but to mint money after capturing the market by knocking down small and weak traders and farmers.

reliance would get it fixed.
by knowme Iamhuman on Aug 25, 2007 11:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I knw reliance guys can bribe any body to get what they wd need,so political parties are just making cries for the money that reliance wd pay them to keep their mouth shut..nothng else....

If they really care about rural economy ask them to live in a village where there is rarely any electricty water supply infrastructure. anything... ask them to follow gandhi..........then poor junta would know what it means to be a leader.......not like moving in ac cars ,owing palatial houses..........it doesnt sound realistic even to talk about poor people..........its the shame for india that we can't see who is ditching us

you are absolutely right, these people talk as they are back bone of rural economy. There should be an issue to live on, yes they are real politicians. In India an indian is an outsider, we can go to any other countryand expect that others to co operate with us, but within the state how we can say they are outsiders, this old dirty politicians live happily, they get their things in power, and without power, and make others life miserable. My advice change for the sake of nation, WE ARE INDIANS,WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER AND LIVE TOGETHER AND DIE TOGETHER, ANY WHERE ON THE GLOBE.

Useless Country will never come up !!!!!
by vijay baskar on Aug 25, 2007 10:33 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

These politicians in india are idiots and will never allow india to come up at any cost.. Reliance setting up such supermarkets makes life easier for middle class people and the lifestyle of the people gets better rather than going and standing in hot sun in the market to buy vegetables...

This reliance is particularly for middle class and high class people ..No doubt india is with low class around 70% ...all these low class people will prefer buying with local retailer only..how can the local retailer lose money...

Allow the country to grow..Dont just make it by words that INDIA WILL BE A SUPER POWER LIKE AMERICA ...do something which would make your thoughts lifestyle and habits to a high class level like americans and brits...

Useless idiots...Keep shopping in market with rotten vegetables and flies would have already finished eating half the product and insects eating the rest...

Eat the same bring chicken guniya duniya dengu etc and stay as useless people...

NO ONE CAN CORRECT THE LIFE OF INDIANS... HYGINE AND SOPHISTICATION IS SOMETHING THEY WILL NEVER LEARN AND WILL NOT ALLOW OTHER TO LEARN...

JUST GO ASK THIS RAMDASS ABOUT HIS HOUSE SHOPPING OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS.. WILL IT BE IN LOCAL SHOPS WHICH HE IS SUPPORTING ...NEVER ... IT WILL BE IN NILGIRIS AND VITAN AND FOOD WORLD....

Politicians safe gaurd their health and life.. they push people into problems...

Alrady mayawati has done a blunder and this ramdass never has any job to do in TN ...its useless

You are right. Let all multi nationals come to India (not just in TN)- then only the Indians will develop. Go and see China..they are now better than Europeans. Wal-Mart is doing fantastic business there and have employed more than 50,000 workers. Lakhs of people gets indirect benefits also. Reliance Fresh is good for all classes of people and these small traders will not be affected by them.

There are Ramadasses in Kerala and they are also opposing Reliance. When Computer came to Kerala, those Ramadasses opposed it with tooth and nail but now almost all comrades who just passed SSLC are carrying Laptops with them !

Two type of Guys
by ASHOK on Aug 25, 2007 10:12 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Type 1 >> Value or wealth Destroyer >> Such as most of Indian politicians like Ramdoss Jr / Sr etc.

Value or wealth Creator >> Such as Tata / Birla Reliance / Mahendra's / Infosys / Wipro etc.

It is upto us to destroy Value destroyers by educating common man and asking to vote them OUT.
