by Gopu Ranganathan on Aug 24, 2007 08:30 PM  Permalink
Dr.Ramadoss and his son both have studied MBBS and not Sithamaruthuvam. But now he wants Tamil to be taught in MBBS and Engineering.
He himself could not find out a single word in Tamil in Medical so far.He should learn and practice the Thirukural message "ULAGATHODU VOTTA VOZHUGAL PALA KARTUM KALLAR ARIVILATHAR"

He is so practical actually, just like the Communist Murderers. All these projects that you are talking about is the only way that India can grow in the future and so if these goondas object to them then that is the only way they can make money.

Rural people. My A55. These guys are real Ba5tards. All their kids and grandkids are in the US and study in English convents and they have the nerve to talk about this.

But we will keep talking about this and then fall for these murderers. That's how we past 60 years. There is going to be a Great Indian Revolution and it is going to take one guy who is going to change the who'll country and bring back all the values to life.

God send that person to India.

Backward thinking fools
by Brian Antao on Aug 24, 2007 07:00 PM  Permalink

This PMK is nothing but an organization of backward thinking fools that will keep the nation backward and will not appreciate any progress and development. These fools are resistant to change and cannot accept change being brougt about through progress and development. They want to oppose development and gain political mileage for themselves exploiting the sentiments of the poor masses by swaying them against the developments that can change their lifes for the better forcing them not to accept the progress and developments. These opponents to progress and developments are very much like the leftists and communists who claim to fight for the common man but in the guise of the common man will keep the majority of the common man below the poverty line. Now what Reliance fresh is doing is bringing a new generation of retail infrastructure service to the public that has many conveniences across the board from the supply chain to the public distribution system, it brings greater comfort to everyone who gets involved in the infrastructure, contrary to what these opponents who are short-sighted have to say. And cannot stand to see progress and development come in their wayside. The revolution in retail in India is here to stay and these buggers better accept it.

A letter to Mr S.Ramdoss
by Kalpathiraman Narayanan on Aug 24, 2007 06:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You seem to be taking up the farmer's cause so much that Reliance shops should be closed from
Tamil Nadu,as according to you small traders & farmers are being crushed.I will not criticise you for that!.Now ,Mr Ramadoss, tell me your answer to this:all the auto rikshaws at the state capital-Chennai-have got meters fixed on to their vehicles, for just show!!.No auto driver will take you to your destination as per meter. You have to negotiate first & then get 'looted'first before getting down!!.Do you know that? If Reliance is looting poor traders, are not your poor auto drivers looting the public in broad daylight? Tell me yes or no.Can you rectify the situation Mr Ramadoss by your 'clout'?.Come to Mumbai-take any auto or taxi.Just get in & tell him your destination-he will take you to your place & he will tell you the fare as per meter reading!! No talking!! Can you bring that situation in Chennai? Then kudos to you, otherwise,I will request you to shut your mouth.Clear?

safeguarding the retailers
by Vipin Shishodia on Aug 24, 2007 06:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

he is indeed safeguarding the retailer "SUBHIKSHA", which belongs to "HIS" state... (READ - http://www.rediff.com/money/2007/feb/05bspec.htm)...
In March, 1997, opened first store in Thiruvanmiyoor in Chennai, By March 1999, 14 stores, expanded to 50 stores by June 2000. In the next two years, had 120-130 stores across Tamil Nadu. Today, have 145 stores all over Tamil Nadu. Already term themselves India's largest retail chain store with 500-plus stores & plan to have 1,000-plus stores by the end of this year.

WHAT SAY GUYS??????

English no-no!
by Ramesh Nair on Aug 24, 2007 06:34 PM  Permalink

I wish to ask what happened to Mr.Ramadoss's fight against usage of English in the state. His son speaks fluent English and he himself embraces the language whenever he can. The current fight against Reliance will also have a natural death when people will start pretesting against him.

A few thoughts
by Anil Gonsalves on Aug 24, 2007 06:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some gentleman here have written that we are Indians first. Unfortunately, that is not
and never will be the case. When I go to TN, I will be a NIndians. When I go to NI, I will be a Goan. When I go to Karnataka, I will be a pavallah, to WB, I will again become a north indian. Only when I leave India will I become an Indian. As long as we are in India, we will always be seen as outsiders in every state where we either do not speak the mother tongue of the state or speak it in a way which shows we are not natives.

A Maharashtrian in Bengal will always be seen as an outsider, beyond a point no one will trust him. So also for a Bengali in Tamil Nadu or a Tamil in GUjarat. Local people everywhere mistrust others from other states. Try not knowing Bengali in WB or Gujarati in Gujarat.
We are Indians when we leave India.

Actually, our regional identity is a concomittant to our Indian one. We cannot be Indians first, we can be Kannadigas and Indians first, both going hand in hand. ONce we are Indians, the regional identity will always accompany us-if I'm an Indian first, I will always be a Keralite, Bengali, Telugu first also. One cannot be ahead of the other.

These problems of regionalism also keep cropping up because of the lack of decentralization in our country. We have states as big and populous as European countries, being ruled by Delhi. What we need is decentralization of a lot of powers,; and at least 50 % of the Central taxes to be kept with the state governm
