I find it strange that why people are always talking about how wal-mart pay their staffs low wages and how they deprived their staffs benefits. But ultimately, did the staffs join them at a willing basis or wal-mart actually cheat them into employment?
Nothing is perfect in this world. I believe everyone is not perfect (even those complaining). But the truth is not what the company did to their staffs, it's why the staffs still continue to work even when they're under-paid with limited or no benefits as a worker. So?

I am glad you brought that up because thats is exactly what your government does also, it pays rediff to salnder Pakistan thats why Rediff has no credibility! thank you for making my point.
Genetics, unlike physics, is notorious for its lack of predictability. Wal Mart has failed outside the US. It has lost billions in Germany and South Korea, and has withdrawn from these markets. Perhaps Bharati genes will make it more successful in India!
Rediff too happy to help Walmart. It will never talk of Walmart's abysmally low wages, absence of many benefits that are standard at other places and the ravaging of many quiet towns. This is the ugly side of capitalism. Make money now Rediff, you won't be able to do this after you lose your credibility.

Most of US MNCs are blood suckers and capialists. A number of them have beecaught doing all kinds of wrong practices in USA as well in host countries.Their sole aim is to maximise profits.Though american profs teach wealth maximisation.may be they want to suck the wealth of markets they serve in shortest possible time.

As opposed to the kirana stores employing kids ???paying their employees benfits are they??How about swiping their customer off. Atleast walmart gives good price.
I think the whole article is simplistic to describe Wal-Mart. Go to one and see the scale, sheer size and the complexity involved. It is astounding even to comprehend.
