Enjoy all varieties brothers
by Mango Connoisseur on Apr 28, 2007 09:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We Indians should be proud of our ripe luscious Indian mangoes. At the same time, we should take care not to discriminate. There are other excellent varieties out there - appreciate them too. Mexican and South American varieties have their own characteristic aroma, taste, texture and look. Mallika's and Priyanka's are different from Salma Hayek's and Penelope Cruz's - but can we say which is better? I personally prefer pink tipped ones, but I appreciate the good ones.

Mangoes - Man it goes!!!
by SHREESHA RANGANATH on Apr 28, 2007 04:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Where is need to export to US which had banned Indian mangoes when the country needed foreign exchange very badly. We do not need foreign exchange any more, so where is the need now? Besides, we know the benefit is not going to reach the farmer. DOWN WITH CONGRESS POLICY -DENY THE POOR TO FEED THE RICH. Do you want to beg the U.S. for ever? When are you going to have self-respect, if not for your, for the country atleast.

Sorry, you are mistaken. It may be for earning foreign exchange, but think of thousands of Indians who would have missed them for 18 long years.
You would understand this if you are away from India.

Mangoes will be costly and vanish
by shishir kumar on Apr 28, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The same thing had happened with pineapples.Pineapples are grown here and were very cheap but after export it has vanished from the market.Maybe the price we will have to pay will be very high.I donot think money will reach the needy farmers and any good coming out of this policy.Only surplus should be exported.
What about all the wheat which is rotting in the godowns where as our people are not having that to eat also.
All is so mismanaged .

mangoes will become such a rare commodtity that ultimately congress govt. of india will arrange to fly all indians to usa (free of cost) to eat mangoes. Of-course, law of reservations will apply. in the first batch 27% obcs will go to usa to eat mangoes, after them minorities, than SCs and STs. You must eat whatever mangoes are available today else your turn to eat them might come after some 100-200 years.

In 5-25 Years everything will go luxury. We will get only packed food, fruits & veg (Made in Outside India). All fresh veg & fruits will go varnish.

Bye bye to fresh veg.

Dude, why the heck are you fretting about reservation for this long? TN has 69% reservation for decades - now if you go and see the state - its better than many other states...
Reservation is NOT an ideal solution - at the same time, its NOT the end also - there are situations/scenario's where reservation will yield benefits. Its very difficult to explain to closed minded RSS guys...

Joel the congress dog... see what congress has done for india in 60 years and then tell me if they deserve to be in power....if you dont know about know about RSS...go and see all the social work they do and they dont beat drums to tell what they do.... they are the most patriotic organization in the whole country....be it the earthquakes or Tsunami....they are the ones who go there and start relief opeartions even before the govt does anything. But this is not covered by the news media because the whole news media is so called "secular". And by the way.....they dont convert people like many churches do....and that explains why you hate RSS....

by Anuj Pandey on Apr 28, 2007 04:15 PM  Permalink

This is what is going to happen, with all good mangoes going to the US, we will be paying through our nose. But I hope that the farmers get some better returns, if all the money is going to be pocketed by traders then its of no use. Its business as usual.. and farmers...as usual

Dear!
Ultimately the exporting country has to gain the profit...in this i am agree to export becuase almost we are using only 56 % of the total yield of our country,.minfact among the 56 % about 42 % are using by processing industries....like Foods and Inns limited, the giant in the quality Mango pulp and conc aroung the world suppliers adn Jain,UBCL ,SOL,Capriconlike ours is the best in the world...even alot of african countries and pakistan have more mangoes..
infact the NRI's whoare all tasted our taste bud couldnot acept the others..these things only knows if away from our country...say congradultaions to teh exporters to overcome with the pesticide ad proving the world of organic manner productionof mangoes....
with regards...K.S.Kumaran
