I admire Mr. Roy for his leadership. He is a champion among men. In this UP (Ulta Pradesh;) type of state, he has focused people's mind on collective co-operation re. pursuit of wealth. To unite UP wallas on anything is an award winning achievement in itself. To further enable said collective with financial opportunity is absolutely phenomenal.
Sure Sahara is murky and opaque re. corporate governance issues. So was Tata 100's of yrs. ago re. opium trading business. IBM was in business with the Nazis. Coca-Cola once had cocaine in its concoction. So Sahara is a bit dodgy Co. ...so...so what?
Roy is in the business of making money. Sahara is a finance Co. Not an airline, real-estate or media Co. Losing the airline shop is a money wise idea, no?
I for one do vote for Mr. Roy's unifying, channeling and empowering skills. Hats off to the man!
Mr. Goel is a person who knows his interest better than these message writers. If he is paying 1450 crore then his return from the investment must be adequate.
Mr. Roy is a big name , do not be judgemental, if a man sells one of his co. he does not becomes a bad or corrupted man, downfall is a part of everybody's life. Tommorrow if his business wud succeed you guys wud be clapping.

that goes without saying, shilpy. Mr. Roy is not only a self made man, he is a man of integrity.
Panchkula St. 14th April, 2007,Afternoon 3.20pm. Well as Dasguta notes Mr Subroto is a quintessential Dreamer, like many Prabasi Bengalis...We hear of his grandioise Ambitions from TV channels, Airlines, Newspapers and above all claim of emotional attachment to all his variously categorised "Parivar Members "as sharing the dream of co-Prosperity, as made by 'filmi Guru' Ambani very much doffs like his sire Late Dhirubhai who built an empire from the small time Gas Station helper, only some 40-50 yrs back. This is a story in some way parallel to Sobroto Babu's own heartfelt Dreams to create a synthesis of workers , creative -people and tycoons in tandem to make Sahara a great experiment in such things as Bapu's trusteeship Idea! A People's Movement. D.Goel
Whole corporate india and layman who follows the corporate news know well the Shahara 'Pariwar' is dubious, corrupt. To say that it sums up all what is wrong with our country (politics - black money -corruption - propoganda - state sponsored gunda raj etc) will not be much wrong. What is the purpose of such propoganda news items? That people invest in Sahara city plans or buy mutual funds or best become an employee of Sahara or what else?? God save Uttar Pradesh..
Mr Roy is the biggest gainer. 1450 Crores is something that no other organisation could have given for a loss making airlines with the cost of operations going higher and higher daily.

May be he is under pressure from a sector to deliver some big money to some one or party.
Sahara knows that it can never get this kind of money by running the airway.. Also, the financial dealings of Sahara group is a mistery... Do any one know, how Sahara is funding its business.
