Hope this retail revolution will increase farmer's real incomes and put an end to the spree of farmer's suicides in India.Since the govt,is not involved this venture is very likely to succeed and produce better results, till then keep our fingers crossed and wait for the results.

Kirana Shops are ripping people off.
by V S on Apr 14, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The subhiksha super market shop is selling things at a discount and compared to the Kirana shops they give a better deal.

Kirana shops should not survive as they are rip off and cheat the consumer.

Dude if you can study the the model of Kirana Store you will never speak such words to them. Few points that will prove you wrong.
1) They never get huge margins on products which Organised retailers are getting.
2) They never get offers for consumers from manufacturing company which they get.
3) They give credit to their customers which they wont. (Credit Card is not the credit they offer)
4) They are suppressed by the manufacturing company whereas manufacturing company are suppressed by the Organised retailers.
5) You never buy goods on borderline of expiry from Kirana Store whereas you buy goods without looking for expiry at Organised market.

Think on this.
Try to Save Kirana Stores. They share India's 10% GDP. It will affect our economy. Our infation rate will increase at higher rate.

Hey dude (i think u like to call others tat way ) You are trying to forcibly thrust your opinion on the people who comment against Kirana stores .
I got no pity for them as they have almost had a ball till now they were rude they were adamant head strong and all oter words i cant put in here
Its guud for the consumers tat these retail chain are comin in.
another point if they make 10% of our GDP then these foreign investors are giving us increased FDI.
So think b4 u speak and let ppl have their own opinion.

Common, make it fast. Throw out inefficient and cheat kirana shops. If there are any really good kirana shops, they will survive.
