somehow I feel that from CEO (whole-time directorship), principle officer having direct responsibility of running a huge organisation to c-chairman who has limited roles on the day-today activities and business plan of the company at a young age, shows some brewing inside stories of infy. Anything is possible in a corporate sector when fame and money is accumulated - don't go by the tailored speach and press releases - sooner or later you can hear Nilekani leaving infy and either starting his own or joining somewhere else as CEO (waiting for the entire ESOP's go get vested, together with a couple of more year's incentives and bonus?)

just let us not unanimously declare and decide that Infy is the only corporate having corporate values, vision, idiology, falana falana....all those craps...they may have some plus points with them, that does not mean that nothing can go wrong there too... i have neither said or want to say anything about what Nilekani would do in future...i was only mentioning that what is read in the release need not be true..

Thanks Anusha.. After spending 60 years in the corporate, you showed us the insight of this article. Kudos to you. Why dont to apply for this role?

Anusha- I totally agree with you. You are so busy criticizing others, a most (un)productive activity one can undertake in life. How can you have time for silly things like running a Corporation of the size and reputation of Infosys? Keep up your occupation so that other level headed entreprenuers can continue doing their work to uplift India and its economy to new levels - uninterrupted!

Madam Anusha!! There are no ESOPs for Nandan Nilekani... he is a promoter of the company and doesn't have to wait for anything. He can leave when he wants... the question is "Does he want to leave?" Don't just speculate for the sake of it! If you want to know the share-holding patterns of the promoters of Infosys, check out this link: http://www.infosys.com/investor/reports/quarterly/2006-2007/Q3/Clause-35-December-31-2006.pdf
Family run groups should feel ashamed to see this....infosys has highly professionalised approach...this group will always do well...thier ethical and professional standards are very strong....groups run by owners /relatives/chamchaas should learn frm this.

Not too sure. They are also a bit old fashioned and conservative. Heard that they have fans (and not ACs) in their Offices these days. This may be heresay - Anybody can clarify on this

Indeed you are right. Family run businesses in India are mostly run on primitive lines. Most of them dont have enough good sense to see that professionally run business can actually benefit the family. I work for a family run business. About its mode of running business, management, operations, etc, the less said the better

U r 100% correct Mr. John, baniya type business houses in India should learn from companies like Infosys , TCS etc
I dont think this is the right move. I also heard that there is some problem internally brewing and all want the top spot... I think that the collapse of infy is starting with such musical chair happening for the CEO post.. 3rd CEOP now in a short time...

It looks like you are highly speculative ;-) I suggest, you should stop day-dreaming!

One only needs to look at the succession battles around the business empires in India to realise that Infosys is having a good run, because its not a 'family organisation'. Many of us would remember how Onkar Kanwar skidded his dad off the chairman ship of Apollo tyres!
Wonder what the second generation of Infosys heirs will do?!
whtever Infy is today,is just bcoz of strong foundation laid by Mr.Murty.E'one is following him and giving chance to young blood.I think Indian Team also shd learn, now they have played their cricket ,now give chance to others and let them win matches for india.

Why does everything eventually come back to cricket? Is that the only thought in your head all the time?

very true said by blur..Y cricket all the time. Please spare cricket & cricketers
thanks and congratulations to the infosys management.Manufaturing sectors are to learn lesson from this group.how top level and bottom level deviation could be reduced can learn from infosys.
Myth 1. This is team rotation. Well do u think they will have space for 5 co-chairmen in 2 years?
Myth 2. This is team work. Note the powers of Nilekani are significantly trimmed and completely removed from company functioning. Also they are very fuzzy, less than Narayan Murthy...at a very your age.
Something doesnt seem right, only Infy insider can tell, maybe Phaneesh:)
