ok, if Mr. N Murthy is going to be the president so be it. What is your problem with that. Infy has given good return on investment year after year. This article is abt that and not abt the next probable president.

FYI, they are doing that. Mr. & Mrs Murthy are helping schools by providing them computers and othe required infrastructure. Because of Infosys lot of people are gettig jobs (direct and indirect).
Also, Mrs. Murthy has devoted herself fulltime to community service.
You may check yourself.
So, please be proud with what they doing and support them as a nation (if you are an Indian).

Hello Friend, It is disgusting to see such comments made by educated person like you. I don't understand why we Indian tend to look everything I mean Literally everything with suspicious eyes. Why can't we develop broader view? Why there can't be any positive about anything in India?
Coming back to the point observed by you, did you ever ask such questions to other Indian corporates? If not then why? Did you made any study about Infy's philanthropic activities before coming conclusion? Looking at your comments it is clear that you have not checked anything and infact it seems that you are not interested to do so. Freedom of speech doesn't mean one will talk anything about anybody. I guess we need to think about it seriously. Btw, for your kind information please check following link which will give you some idea of Infy's social activities: http://www.infosys.com/infosys_foundation/rural.htm
I know after checking this people like would shout that whatever mentioned in that web site is all bogus.

try to validate the point that u r writing dumbo. only dumbos can correlate a quaretely result with politics
FYI NRN is out of infosys he has taken his retirement.
Infosys has invested a lot of money in infosys foundation and they do really good work.
It is surprising that any tom, dick and harry are jealous of NRN. Infosys made profits mostly from their foreign clientele. It did not loot indian treasury as done by mayavatis, paswans and laloos. Go and ask them what they have done to the country. Even laloo's in-laws think that the railway is their private property. They have the audacity to travel without tickets in AC compartments.
Shame on you looters! YOu are the most unqualified to comment on infosys.

Shame on you first of all. you biased people, u r giving kudo's to NRN for just giving 4000 crore of profit. yes i appreciate it, but without bias u should think of Lalloo who has made railway 20000 crore profit company from loss making company, You peoples are always biased against low cast people, but think of this ...this country has always been ruled by upper class people we are still a developing country...or poorest country. this is because of your mindset. not because of lalloo, mayawati or any other person.
Hi Gautam, have U verified the balance sheet of the Railways for the last decade? Laloo's predecessors were spending the revenue heavily on creating new infrastructure, loco, tracks and coaches. Laloo has reduced it by half and is showing an increase in revenue. Moreover, we will have to wait until Nitish or paswan takes over from him in the next term to understand what he has really done with the railways.
well i m proud to say that I m placed at INFOSYS after my engg. C my company doing good even before joining and to all the infy member's out there...lemme tell you that you (sorry we) are the best....oooooooooo

you know, thats another problem with Infy. if you see globally, Infy doesn't even rank in top 150 companies and the hype they have created in India seems like they rule the roost. And especially with Infians, it sounds a bit preposterous sometimes the way they brag about their company.I guess they need to step out and see other companies also and once they do they would realise the nature of work they do is least thought provoking, mostly back end work that requires brute work more than intelligence. But I guess thats the broader strategy of infy to create a hype and make everyone believe that they are the most hip and happening company in India.
RE:Kudos to infy
by Dr Z on Apr 13, 2007 12:20 PM Permalink
yep.. it goes with the country... wonder how man of the other top 100 global best companies recruit many people in India The fact does remain that they are one of the hip and happening companies in India - defly more attractive (with associated pressure) better than govt jobs or PSU jobs or old economy jobs (a non infy worker)
I wish Infy had passed the benefits of these excellent results to its employees also! They are one of the least paid, over worked, almost exploited workforce in the entire IT industry. having worked for both Infy and an American telecom multinational, I realised that Infy spends more money on things that do not matter for its employees in the long run like the campus at Mysore, which is built at a staggering cost of some 100's of crores, but most of the employes get to avail it for just a few months. I guess this is where Indian and American companies differ.
RE:Good show, but what happens to its employees!
by Rupesh on Apr 13, 2007 11:15 AM Permalink
the problem of neglecting the employees lies with almost all of the indian companies. ders a lot of difference in which the americans, europians and the indians run the company. While americans, europians consider their employees as their assets, the indians consider their employees as a burden on d company.

Akhere Indian companies are "Baniyas" and suckers. The history of Indian industries is exploiting employees. Moree, the benefit of industrilaization is not passing on to people in rural areas. How many rural engineers represent Infosys? How many represent MNCs? I demand that affirmative action by govt (not in line of caste, but rural/city orirntation) needs to be taken so that rural india represents the indian industry. Why the hell rural folks will end up doing only blue color jobs? Most Indians who work in good companies today, their parents were corrup govt officers 20-40 years back. They reaped the benefit, could send their kids in good schools and they represent the posh Indian talent today. These people go to godo companies, US, etc. I have come to believeing that talent is a 6 letter word only which can be bought and is being bought by money and infrastructure. I like in Rajasthan and we have a city here Kota that produces 85% of the IIT entrants ecery year. They come from different parts of India, well off society and they only can cough up the big money for specialized coaching. Getting into IITs through grindings is no big achievement. Exam centric preparation does not make one talented. You IIT boys who are working in the industry must understand this truth.

"Akhere Indian companies are "Baniyas" and suckers. The history of Indian industries is exploiting employees. " - yep that puts it in the perfect context... that's the reality in many third world countries that have senseless population growth... So the root casze is diferent "Why the hell rural folks will end up doing only blue color jobs?" - cos the true benefits of reservation did not reach them. Which is why there are whole families of SC and OBC doctors in cities, who can afford post graduation abroad "I demand that affirmative action by govt (not in line of caste, but rural/city orirntation) needs to be taken so that rural india represents the indian industry" - a more sensible form of reservation. But cannot be implemented by the rulers and lawmakers by removing existing caste bsed reservation... In addition to case bsed reservation, maybe in the future when things get worse

The rich OBCs will easily circumvent it. Every one will cretae a rural address for himself while living in cities and deprive the original ruralites of their due.

Hey man, only revenue doesn't make anything Best in Best, Infosys has excellent employee development plans, world class training centers and many educational development plans that helps in enhancing Indian Cyber power, And it doesn't mean that other companies are not BEST....

Hi Gautam, the difference lies in the pedigree. Tatas have been in business for generations. But infosys was started by a team of lower middle class people and taken to dizzy heights. Give even the devil its due.

Gautam Sinha, could you please explain why this doesn't affect stock prices? this is positive news, I think it will.
Congratulations to Infosys for reporting excellent results. The latest quarter results indicates on annualized basis profit of USD 1 billion. By the end of the year Infosys is going to be one of the very few global companies that achieve a profit of USD 1 billion.
