Good work by JET Airlines. Indian AIrlines and Air India should also be sold which has become a sick of Civil and become hinderance to the development of Civil Avioation setor in India. People of India are forced to travel by Trains due to Indian-Airlines and Air India, worst kind of public sector undertaking of Government of India.

Hello, many people travel by train because of easy accessibility and also because of the fun. Also with the security checks these days when you cant even carry home made food, water or pickles, articles of personal hygene, railways is really good. Even if it takes longer it is a cool rocking trip.
I am very annoyed by Jet for their exhorbiant price charging to Gulf based passengers.
Last year during summer peak time, I was charged Dhs. 1,100/- for MUM-IXE sector. This year Air India Express have started direct DXB-IXE flights - to see, Jet are charging Dh. 562/- as summer peak rate.

You should try Kingfisher. I paid Rs.2850 for the same route. If you buy in advance it is even less. It has much better service.

I have purchased a 9W ticket for BOMIXE. I have got it for 2250 inclusive of taxes
I hope Jet can now provide better frequency , new destinations and reasonable fares. Jet should not try to behave like big brother otherwise Indian travellers are smart enough to shift to other airlines !!!!
I still remember last year when I was planning to come to Mumbai from Bangalore and all the flights were full. I went to airport and requested Jet airlines for a seat, but they were very rude in answering my request. I enquired about atleast booking in waiting list so that if someone cancels then i may get a chance to fly. This time they were very rude in telling that Jet dont have this waiting list concept and asked me to try other airlines. Finally I went to Indian Airlines which were also full. Atleast those guys co-operated well with me and arranged to send me by next available flight. After this experience I felt bad about Jet..Dont they value their customers?? And look at the flight rates, they are sky high and can only be afforded for official visits. I hope that airlines like Air Deccan,Kingfisher and Indian get more aircrafts and give more competition to Jet.

Thats a good answer.., I too think Kingfisher is only airliner can able to handle this deal.
Will have to see what changes may effect in "TAKEOVER" deals.
In recent past, we have seen so many companies are eager to buyout small companies having average reputation.
Guess that I have lost the good fares (hospitality and maintenance was not very bad though) with Sahara. Jet is completely unreasonable sometimes with the rates! Ppl can't offord it. It focuses on the corporate sector.

Right now occupancy ratio of jet is so poor, if it adds capacity of Sahara at high price - it will see losses only.
They should run air sahara as low cost airline - otherwise market will force jet to do so

yes, Jet has changed its customer friendly attitude and become arrogant now with their higher fares. The reason being they have more number of aircrafts and routes besides developing the corporate clientale with JP miles and cards. the corporate people, whenever official travel comes, prefer to travel only by Jet to earn mils for their personal use - once a Jet traveler, always a Jet traveler. Moreso, Jet also has its international flights to add to their credit.
Unless another private sector airlines developes like Jet with interntional competition and number of aircrafts with requisite routes competing fares, Jet will have it way...
While Kingfisher is planning for international routes (to US?), it might take a couple of years for this to get implemented..

I totally agree, have been flying Jet since 99 and will not change to any other airline. Agree I am a corporate guy and on expense account but u get so used to a specific airline that even when I fly personally I will only fly jet. I use KF airlines also but will not risk my life on Deccan. Yes the Jetmiles is a bonus which is why jet has the corporate crowd, KF is better but they do not have that many flights to all locations and its no use waiting at the airport for a flight when on jet if ur gold or platinum they try to accomodate u as much as possible. In the end its all boils down to convenience.
Also I will never stoop to the level to run and push to get on the flight so that I can get an aisle seat or something like that like what happens on Deccan.

it is not the question of affordable air fares...Sahara aircrafts/maintenance is pathetic compared to Jet as also hospitality and service. Jet may have to totally revamp Saharas's attitude and service - not that Jet is a super duper service provider, but still.... In any case, this takeover syndrome we can expect more in the coming years to contain competion on same routes and cheaper fares..

Its good news but again the question is unanswered what will happen to the employees of Air Sahara. There is no clarity about that and no body is discussing it. Today i also read that maybe due to govt. regulatin of ground control, sahara and jet will have to leave ground operations for others or reform a new company altogether to bid for ground operations. If they fail then this will result in throwing out their manpower.

Adarsh - even otherwise most of the airlines (corporates) have lower rung employess being supplied by the service providers. Ofcourse, over the time (say 6 months to 1 year) Jet will come out with a scheme to reduce their headcounts.

Maybe not. You should see the attitude put up by Jet Airways these days when they do not value customers anymore. The numbers have swelled for them and also they hardly have competition anymore other than IA. Longing to see Kingfisher and Paramount grow so as to see increased competition. Personally I feel these two airlines offer better service as well as rates.
