It's inspirational
by Sunil Agrawal on Apr 15, 2007 10:24 AM  Permalink

It is a message to all negative mindset that one man can turn the corner. We angreji literates only blame the system but do nothing.

How many of us will learn and act from Mr. Chawala?

Subir Roy
by Raghavendra Kattinakere on Apr 15, 2007 07:11 AM  Permalink

Mr Subir Roy
What do you mean when you say,
"But his portly dimensions and Hindi with a strong Punjabi accent places him culturally firmly in Delhi"? What about Governament of Karnataka and NIC contribution?
I kinda have a doubt here, is rediff heighlighting it because he culturally belongs to Delhi?
Do not forget to give proper credits.

There are only a few
by Kumar M on Apr 15, 2007 12:08 AM  Permalink

There are only a few like Rajeev Chawla. Unfortunately the system does not allow good people to continue their work. He could have continued to complete teh work. The term "routine transfer" is used to kick out good people from the good work they do.

Its all pop up bussiness of Media.
by reader on Apr 11, 2007 09:08 AM  Permalink

Its heartening to see this author giving credit to only Rajeev Chawla. No doubt he is one of the hard workers in the team who worked for the success of Bhoomi. The Author should have gone thru more details about this project. Who has developed the software? and who are intial stake holders? of this project. And it is also true that we indian's always think that a govt. official means he is a corrupt person. They think it because they see in revenue and municipal offices etc. But Its not like that for an ISRO,HAL,NIC,C-DAC scientists and engineers who work hard to help this country for a meagre salaries as compared to MNC's who will do only business. These guys are also constrained to very limited resources from Govt.

Don't forget to remember Back Seat Drivers!! Who pump the blood of Bhoomi across Karnataka
by on Apr 10, 2007 09:55 PM  Permalink

Good job Mr. Chawla and Congratulations on getting the Award. I heard that there are lots of real engineering brains worked delivering the products (Heart of Bhoomi) day and nights, right!! I would also take this oppurtunity to say my Hats off to those guys. Good work Guys, Keep it up. I also learnt that it was done by a Govt. firm who devliverd the software, it's really surprizing that govt firms also have very talented Engineers. Good to know. I think id it National Informatics Centre Karnataka (www.kar.nic.in). Let all of us give them a good applause. Keep it up guys.

Andhra did it before
by Suresh on Apr 10, 2007 03:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think too much is being read into the bhoomi project. Actually it based on Chandrababu naidu's conecpt of eseva and land records digisation. Today one can get the encumbrance details of land any where in the state of Andhra Pradesh in a matter of minutes. AP in fact was the winner of the Stockholm award for e governance. Next time, check out details before you publish an article. The author in this case seems to have got carried away by a pompous IAS officer.

Andhra Govt is not able to Give Online Land Records since past so many years also..My dear friend its only in Karnataka that we get online ROR (RTC) and mutaions are done online only in Karnatka in entire India...The so called e-seva kendra are just like hotel billing counters..whats e-givernance in that..first check e-seva in details..Andhra Govt is sending there IAS officers to Karnataka for studying Bhoomi every year ...but even this day...no online ROR is available..only back dated ROR is given at Andhra...Andhra people boast a lot but nothing on ground...Thanks to Mr Chawla and NIC Karnatka for making Bhoomi only one of its kind in entire world. Check what all Awards Bhoomi has bagged till now... Bye...My friend keep Informed yourselves and comment...

dear laddu lakha...
you r correct... the person who mailed you may not be knowing... go to most of govt depts.. there it is paper less.. no doubt ur state has done bhoomi project... but it only bhoomi... nothing else... u see how it devloped in other feilds... where u people lag.. far behind... for ex... most of the places.. in karnataka do not have good roads...etc... u see andhra.. how it is devloping.. even roads at villages r good enough.. cost wise it is cheaper city like madras.. so when u r commenting on some state.. be cautious of ur remarks.... for ur kind inf.. most of the professionals staying at US or other countries are andhrites...

Dear Friend, ( in Decency Limits)

My friend you are agreeing yourselves that there is Brain drain in Andhra. Recently Honble President of India has suggested many ways to stop brain drain and Govt of Karnataka is already on the job as per you as less people from Karnakata Go to US. Facilities and Opurtunities in Karnkata are better and that why less people seek bread and butter outside karnakata and vice versa in your case as per you only. You and your people do not like good things I believe...you see a Good worker like CB Naidu was defated, whose vision was to make Hyderbad like Bangalore. But our ex-chief ministers namely J. H Patel vision was to make Bangalore as singapore. We appreciate good roads in Andhra thanks to Mr. Naidu and now karnataka has also started developing international standard roads. other than Bhoomi many IT projects are sucessfully running ..please check for these..Online VAT system for all CTO offices in Karnakata, Online treasury monitoring system, 800 Neemadi rural Kiosks offering services like Birth Certificate, Caste Certificate, Income certificate etc..and many more

Bye friend..we like healthy dicussions...

Welcome Bhoomi ! Should be compulsion for Bhoomi putra ( Registrars / Builders /etc) !!
by ajay sharma on Apr 10, 2007 03:13 PM  Permalink

Bhoomi will have to go long way now in completing aspirations of Indian People who are interested in Land i.e. deal / transfer /purchase / sale etc. We are proud of Mr. Chawla. Instant records should be available alongwith respective records i.e. ULC/8A/7X12/Index II/Ferfar/Track Changes/Govt. rulings currently prevailing / valuation etc.
